Warning from historians over government's treatment of trans people Over 350 historians and academics have urged the government to turn back on its growing attacks on trans rights in the UK.

Academic historians rarely speak up like this but have made an exception in speaking in support of trans people in the UK and against the current trans exclusionary situation over there.

Not just a few historians but hundreds signed this.

All this archeology I'm doing has necessitated me using the Lidar satellite thing and all I can think of is the scene in Detectorists where Lance mistakes the Google Earth watermark for an Iron Age settlement

I think part of why he's able to run a successful socialist campaign for mayor is that he doesn't come across as naive. I think that's a necessary quality for any left wing candidate to have when you're selling almost utopian policies.

A more accurate description would actually be ancient fortification + an ancient settlement
