One of the best moments in Aristophanes’ Lysistrata—the Ancient Greek play that inspired the 4B movement currently blowing up on social media—where the eponymous heroine advocates for the collective celibacy of Greek wives to end the war between Athens and Sparta.

The wives do not take it well.

Lysistrata: “We’re going to have to give up—the prick...”

Calonice: “Count me out; let the war drag on… Anything else you want, anything at all… There’s nothing like it, my dear Lysistrata.”

Lysistrata: “Oh what a low and horny race are we!”
