I think this MV is a piece of art. It captures that horrible balance between being on one side of the assault rifle or the other. And how, so very often, it is the same people on either end of the gun.

I watch this video and think of the deliberate effort made by myself and hundreds of thousands of others to demoralize the federal paramilitaries that occupied my cities. We wanted them to empathize with us, with their service siblings, with the abandoned and the discarded. Not the fascist boot.

This winter, the winter of '26, I was in the streets. I have the torn clothes to show for it. I fed people who could not leave their homes. The staff at my electeds' offices recognize my name. I have helped people in other ways.

I didn't go out in the streets when George Floyd was killed. I regret that. I had my reasons - I was still a federal employee, my kids were both still minors, my health was terrible - but I have regret. I didn't fail my own moral standards this past winter, thank goodness.

I gotta say, I spent my first watch-through playing "hey, I've been there!" with the photos. Which is weird. Very surreal.
