I ordered a chicken wrap from Uber Eats and was delivered cocaine instead. True story: yesterday as I eagerly awaited the delivery of a chicken wrap from a local Mediterranean restaurant, I opened my door to notice a sealed envelope instead. Missing address markings, I opened it thinking this surely was a mistake but what could be in this mystery envelope? To my shock, inside was a paper towel padding the room for two little baggies of powdery substance: one pink, one white. I stood in shock, and hunger, contemplating what to do. Mostly, I was hungry. This is Miami, after all. So as I thought about how to handle these illicit substances now in my house, I put them to the side to forage my kitchen for the food I was lacking. Scarily, the “uber driver” returned to my building a few minutes later demanding to be let back in to retrieve his “accidental mix up” of a delivery. Panicked, and not trying to be in the middle of anything related to this world, i stuck the open envelope back outside my door and locked it, so that he could take it off my hands. Which he did. Still, I was hopeful that my chicken would be traded in it’s place. It was not. So, still hungry and now slightly scared and confused, I wrote to Uber to at least get a refund. It was denied. I paid $32 for no food and no drugs. Bummer. As a lesson for you, Linkedin, is that logisitics matter. One missed delivery or issue with mispacked items can really ruin a customer experience.
