Eastern olivaceous warbler, Kouris River, Cyprus. I paid for this Life ✅ photograph with several large insect bites at the M1 Pools today. Well worth it. 😊 #birdingcyprus #birds @birdlifecyprus.bsky.social @birdsaroundcy.bsky.social

Greater flamingo, Spiro’s Pool, Larnaca this morning. Lightning strikes put them up a few times, and a little closer to me in my Faraday cage. Fantastic collection of waders at the moment here. #birdingcyprus #birds @birdlifecyprus.bsky.social @birdsaroundcy.bsky.social

Back home and reviewing some of my photos from Cyprus. One of the best birding locations I've experienced in Europe/Western Palearctic. Lots of amazing birds, including a wonderful selection of stunning wheatear, with lots of variation too. #cyprusbirds

Nice to finally lay my Cypriot bogey bird to rest - Trumpeter Finch - a rare but regular vagrant (most years). Even better to see it land next to a Bimaculated Lark!
Great to also see the wintering Desert Finch again after a few months

Between checking our Cyprus-touring @travel_wildlife group in to Paphos airport yesterday, and going through security for the flight, @WildlifePrecey and I had time to march along to Timi Beach to tick Bimaculated Lark, with a side-order of Trumpeter Finch. Rubbish photos, but much excitement!
