You know what would encourage people to get more physical activity? No, it is not wearable fitness trackers. It is:

1. A liveable wage so people have time for it

2. Safe parks and other infrastructure for such activity

But that’s too hard.

Opinion: UCP's COVID vaccine cuts put children at serious risk A policy of ending pediatric COVID vaccination will disable, hospitalize and even kill Albertan children, leaving blood on Smith’s hands.

My latest in @edmontonjournal.com . The Journal of the American Medical Association recently advised Long COVID in kids may have now surpassed asthma as the leading paediatric chronic illness.

Danielle Smith's response: start charging for and limiting vaccines.

Is this by any chance recorded? Would love to attend but will be in clinic. Thanks!

Canadian physician here, very well said. Their table misrepresents NACI’s recommendations. The policy paper also doesn’t address the fact that COVID vaccination reduces the risk of Long COVID

Everyone 6 months and older is eligible to get a flu vaccine.

It makes no sense to restrict Covid vaccines to only people who have specific medical conditions.

The FDA is basing its decisions on politics, not science.

Kennedy Issues Demands for Vaccine Approvals That Could Affect Fall Covid Boosters
The plans amount to an extraordinary flex of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s power as health secretary to make decisions ordinarily left to career scientists at the Food and Drug Administration.

The COVID vaccines have been taken by billions of people, saved millions of lives, and are some of the most rigorously tested medical products in history.

Someone who has zero experience in vaccine development should not be influencing the approval process. This will kill people.

Opinion: Personal beliefs do not supersede the public good – and vaccination is a public good Ontario’s vaccine exemption is ridiculous, especially when it comes to protecting children

Good stuff here from @picardonhealth.bsky.social

Vaccination is something we do to create a public good, herd immunity. I think he’s also right about framing this as a child welfare issue

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

Without an independent COVID inquiry, we are doomed to ‘rinse and repeat’ past errors - Healthy Debate

Without an independent COVID inquiry, we are doomed to ‘rinse and repeat’ past errors

Unfortunately, it seems that for our political leaders and many amongst us, the preferred coping strategy is to forget COVID-19 as quickly as possible and move on

Funding cuts mean essential and lifesaving healthcare services and vaccinations, among other critical health issues, have shut down, leaving thousands without treatment worldwide.

This isn’t just a policy change - it’s a death sentence.

How denial of airborne COVID transmission broke the world - Healthy Debate Five years later, the greatest basic science failure in generations caused the pandemic harms highlighted by people across the political spectrum, and broke our social cohesion.

Failure accept the airborne spread of COVID doomed our public health, social and economic responses, ensuring they would not be fully effective, appropriately targeted and minimally disruptive, ultimately leading to many divisions in society we see today.

💫Tomorrow is #InternationalWomensDay!

🤔Did you know that #TBI affects women differently (see image below)? Women have a greater vulnerability to the effects of TBI & may struggle to get the care and support they need, as their symptoms are more likely to be downplayed or ignored.
