We are currently recycling electronic equipment at the climate hub (30 Meer Street, near the library) as well as used VHS cassettes, pens and other stationery, medical blister packs & dental plastics.

Thanks John. It’s a very useful article. I‘m a member of BCPP Fossil Free (as Warwickshire is one of the authorities in the Border to Coast Pension Pool). We are having an open meeting online on 19th May at 7.30pm to discuss these issues. You can find out more about the meeting here
Two weeks until our next #RepairCafe in the Methodist Church Hall on Saturday 2nd May. Start looking out those things that need fixing!

Have you seen our "Pick-n-Fix" stock list?
These are screws, nuts & bolts, nails, tacks, washers, hooks and other #DIY items that have been donated from local sheds & cupboards, and you can pick from for free instead of having to buy a whole new pack.

Yes please - I’m away this weekend. One or two bottles would be good if possible
😮 supplies running short again!
Ok, it isn't as windy as we thought it might be (in fact there's not even a breeze at the moment) but you can still bring broken things to the #RepairCafe today 10am-2pm.
Did we mention we have refreshments available whilst you await a repair?
It’s true Jon - I’ve never seen anything like it. I remember one year particularly, in the orchard at Anne Hathaway’s cottage - so much on the trees, at eye level too
Mistletoe balls in the bare branches of a tree alongside the Evesham Road.
One thing I've noticed about Stratford-upon-Avon walking around this winter is that we have an awful lot of mistletoe on trees all over the town. Way more than other places I frequent.
Plants and seeds ready to swap.
The "Give-n-Take" folk have a #seeds and #plant swap in the Methodist church hall today from 10am. #StratfordUponAvon #gardening
This 💯

Eco-craft-along crochet session on 28th March 2026 11.30-11.30am.
Going to be a bit chilly tomorrow morning in #StratfordUponAvon so why not pop along to the Climate Hub at 30 Meer Street to warm up and also learn a bit of crochet at Emily's co-craft-along?
"Learn to crochet a granny square. Eco-craft-along club. On 28th March 2026 10:30-11:30 Net Zero Craft Room, 30 Meer Street, Stratford-upon-Avon. Learn a new craft and reduce waste. Let's do this together. Materials provided"
Reminder: there's a week to go until the next "Eco-craft-along" with Emily at the Climate Hub. She's going to be teaching people how to #crochet and make a "granny square" (part of a larger crocheted blanket). Learn tips and tricks, plus have a natter about #crafts and a cuppa! #StratfordUponAvon
The plug in energy monitor sitting on top of its instruction leaflet.
Want to know how much #energy individual appliances are using? Great to spot big costs during the #CostOfLiving crisis.
We've got five plug in energy monitors for people to borrow for a £5 returnable deposit. Pop into the Climate Hub in 30 Meer Street, #StratfordUponAvon to find out more.
There is a survey running until 14th April about @warwickshirecc.bsky.social Council Plan 2026-30. Look out for them saying whether the county council should be pulling back on its Net Zero programme, which we obviously wouldn't want it to do!

Book club, 23rd March, 3 pm: Patrick Grant's Less: Stop Buying So Much Rubbish: How Having Fewer, Better Things Can Make Us Happier, 3 pm in the climate hub. The book will be presented by someone who has read it, so you don't have to.
We now have a lot more going on at the Net Zero Climate hub. See leaflet below. We are also currently offering recycling collections for old VHS cassettes. The climate hub is open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm (not first Sat of the month, as closed for repair cafe).
A reminder that the monthly Stratford Climate Action meeting is on tomorrow evening (Tuesday 17th March), at 7:30 pm at the Net Zero Climate Hub (30 Meer St, Stratford, CV37 6QB). All welcome to pop along to discuss our ongoing plans and projects.
Congratulations to Mary and Claudine for their focus on the protection and celebration of rivers at “The Gathering” in Stratford-upon-Avon. The finale on Sunday at the Crowne Plaza saw the “birth” of Ondine (spirit of the river) who will return in June 💚
#DirtyBusiness exposed the human cost of profit before public health.
Our water system won’t be fixed with tinkering. It needs public ownership.
I’ve asked my MP to attend the MP drop-in on 17th March & hear that message directly from sewage campaigners: actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...

Preparing food for the community kitchen
Don't forget that we have a *weekly* #Community #Kitchen event every Friday evening from 5-7pm at the Ken Kennett Centre on Justins Avenue.
Chefs prepare fresh food that would otherwise be wasted, and you pay what you feel the meal is worth. Bring a doggy bag too take extras home!
On Friday 13th March, there will be an all day event, Living With Water, Now and Into the Future, at Crowne Plaza hotel, discussing the future of local water systems. The event lasts from 9 am to 5 pm, and attendance is free, but you do need to pre-register.

Gas prices up by around 50% today.
A painful reminder that relying on imported fossil fuels is a risky strategy.
I see we're getting another lesson in "don't rely on foreign oil and gas as your main energy source". You'd think that after Russia's invasion of Ukraine the penny would have dropped world wide, but it appears not. Time to really start installing those #renewable generators and grid scale batteries.
