A graphic showing an image of the Palace of Westminster overlaid with the text "Unfairness is rocket fuel for the politics of resentment; when people feel the political establishment doesn’t recognise or value their voice, they lose trust in the politics of collaboration and start listening to the loudest, angriest alternative."
We need an electoral revolution.

James McAsh, former leader of the Labour Group and Leader-elect of Southwark Council, primary school teacher and trade unionist has joined the Green Party.
⚡2026 is a turning point. UK #climate & environmental activists face both crisis & opportunity.
Fascism rises, the #climate agenda is under attack, & political representation is urgent.
🧵A longish thread on why we must unite behind @zackpolanski.bsky.social & the @greenparty.org.uk 💚
🚨 A third Labour councillor has joined Southwark Green Party.
“The Green Party offers a message of real hope and change.”
– Cllr Reginald Popoola
Reginald will be a candidate for Rye Lane in the May election.
Great to chat to so many people in camberwell yesterday, hearing what issues matter to them- including Father Christmas himself! @southwarkgp.bsky.social #greenparty
Setting up for the market today on Camberwell green - we’ll be there until 3pm - we look forward to seeing you there!
I've spent three days in Calais & it's horrendous.
People living in disgusting conditions. Our Government is spending £476m on the militarisation of the border.
We must divert that money to a humanitarian response that treats people with basic dignity.

His focus locally has been on pushing the council to meet its promises to Aylesbury residents and address poor conditions on the estate. He is a committed socialist and trade unionist.
An experienced community activist, Sam Foster has worked on anti-gentrification efforts, eviction resistance campaigns, and mutual aid organising. He represents the Aylesbury Estate, which is subject to one of the biggest regeneration programmes in Europe.
Southwark Green Party is delighted to annouce that Councillor Sam Foster has joined the Green Party and will be the Green Party’s second Southwark Council councillor, alongside Councillor Kath Whittam who joined the party in November 2025.
Welcome Sam!

A large SUV with private jet wings
A group of campaigners holding "Tax Private Jets" signs.
Did you know you pay more fuel tax on a single car journey than a billionaire does on a private jet flight?
Right now the gov is subsidising tax breaks, when they could be using that tax to generate billions for public services.
Help us change this: https://bit.ly/43NAeFN
BBC headline EV congestion charge “will increase minicab fares” With image of c charge sign against a blue sky. “The congestion charge in central london is due to increase to £18 per day”
Is it fair that public transport fare payers see annual increases in ticket prices, while costs for people driving remain static?
The government has STILL not cleared out the highly partisan decision-makers imposed on the BBC by the Tories. Starmer and co are so amazingly spineless and feeble.

Clearly a sign they are being paid too much money, and not paying nearly enough tax.
They need to check @seatsixtyone.bsky.social to work out how to get there by train

Your new Green Councillor!

This is deeply disappointing from Starmer.
The UK *helped design* this 'TFFF' fund, designed to stop deforestation, and supposedly 'continues to back the fund' (in theory). But now isn't putting any money into it 🤯
How embarrassing for the UK.

Nigel Farage MP pictured smiling with Nathan Gill, former Reform UK leader in Wales who has pleaded guilty to eight counts of taking bribery while being a Member of the European Parliament. In exchange for money, Nathan Gill used parliamentary speeches to speak in favour of Russia.
I have updated my official log of lobbying and policy meetings for the past three months.
This should be a basic requirement for all MPs. We all need to know who those who serve us meet with, and in whose interests they act.

Powerful questioning from my colleague @elliechowns.bsky.social, pinning the government on exactly what it needs to do - NOW - to bring about an end to the atrocities being committed in Sudan.
Today we welcomed Kath Whittam to Southwark Green Party!
"We need a better way of doing our politics.
The Labour Party is no longer looking after the people.
The Green Party is positive, hopeful, and focused on real solutions.
It's talking about how to make things better.”
News!
“People are rejecting the old party politics…but they know they don't need to go to the politics of hate and division. The politics of hope is where it's at.”
Zack and Carla discuss why Bristol Cllr Al-Maghrabi, has joined the Greens and why so many others are doing the same.
The government spends £2.7 BILLION a year on TAX BREAKS for oil and gas companies
Those companies pay billions to their shareholders
And then lay off their workers
Think that's unfair?
Tell Rachel Reeves to stop propping up oil and gas companies and back workers instead…
Map of Europe showing abortion access across EU countries with text reading ‘The EU institutions have the power to turn this…’. Countries are color-coded: pink for ‘availability on request’, red for ‘highly restrictive’, and black circle for ‘total ban (Malta)’. Additional patterns mark mandatory waiting periods, counselling, and distress requirements. The map highlights disparities in abortion access.
Map of Europe with all countries shaded in pink to represent equal abortion access, accompanied by text reading ‘Into this. Free, legal & accessible abortion for all who need it.’ The image contrasts with the previous map to advocate for universal abortion rights.
The next step to make abortion safe & accessible in the EU is happening!
On Wednesday, the FEMM Committee votes on @myvoicemychoice.bsky.social.
Will they stand for safe & legal abortion in the EU, or will they let women suffer because of restrictive bans?

Can’t quite believe the Chancellor is seriously considering slashing support for home energy efficiency as a way to cut fuel bills 👀. Locking people into cold & leaky homes which will cost them more to heat & decimating the insulation industry at same time. Total madness 👇
Welcome Kath!
