Great to hear! Your work on the interpretative ambiguity of EU values has been hugely influential on the argument. I hope it comes across!

Thank you to the amazing co-editors for including me in this Special Issue @dhuber.bsky.social @norafisheronar.bsky.social @dimitrisbouris.bsky.social
The article reads Chantal Mouffe's conception of 'consensus' and @bonniehonig.bsky.social 's notion of 'remainders' through the #homonormativity theories of #homonationalism, -colonialism and -capitalism by Jasbir Puar, Momin Rahman and @rahulraothariel.bsky.social.
The argument: the EU's promotion of LGBT equality shapes the anti-gender dissent it seeks to overcome while effacing alternative ways of imagining an LGBT-friendly Union. Normative theory of the EU therefore needs to study the legitimacy of the EU's #normativepower as essentially contested.
I provide some initial thoughts on how #agonism and (global) #queer theory can help us think about the legitimacy of the #EU 's promotion of #LGBT equality in the context of far right #anti-gender politics
