Some years ago at a DJ event at Saijōji, a temple near Odawara, I was given a present of this tea made in Hakone, which was delicious. Yesterday I was DJing at the Minyō Crusaders gig in Yokosuka, and a lady from the temple gig brought a whole box!! Many many thanks from all of us!

Next Friday (8/22) from 4pm at the Yokohama Bay Hotel, I'll be MCing a session at TICAD, featuring short performances of music from Zimbabwe (Japanese mbira player), Burkina Faso and Senegal. It's open to anyone, and free to get in, but you need to register in advance and bring photo ID.

I saw him in a pub in London during a business trip once, in the late '70s. Wow! That's a gig I'll never forget. RIP.
