#34 Little Girl in the Woods

Every year I have to watch at least one Lifetime Movie as part of #100DaysOfHorror & this was a pleasant surprise. It was still a Lifetime movie but the plot was tense & engrossing & it was well-acted.

In terms of aesthetic it nails the vibes & feel of a bad 80s slasher, but for me it also leaned too heavily into the actual flaws of a an 80s slashers & didn't really land.

#42 Mind Body Spirit

We all expect people in horror films to do stupid things. This movie takes the stupid to a point that it's unbelievable. I had a hard time getting beyond how brainless the lead was. It was distracting.

All summer long I heard my tweens sing songs & every time I asked what, they would yell #KPOPDEMONHUNTERS! I finally watched & it's hella fun. The music is catchy, the story is good. Officially mark me a fangirl.

Unfortunately, I saw this after Dangerous Animals because there are some similar concepts and I think Dangerous Animals does it better, but it was still a solidly entertaining movie.

This movie devastated me. It should not work and yet it 100% does. Flawlessly executed. Brilliant performances. Alarmingly topical. I don't see a world where this doesn't make my Top 10 of the year.
