Throwback to a cute modern pixel tileset I made a while back. I had been teaching myself how to make tilesets for game dev and I am really proud of how it came out. I liked the cozy yet spooky vibe of it, and I really want to add more to it at some point.
I love Aseprite. So many hours spent in it.
To this day Every Layout remains one of my favorite css books. Honestly, any time @bell.bz starts talking about css I pay attention because I end up learning new stuff I can use almost immediately.
I ended up switching to VS Codium (the open source binary distribution of vs code) and it made a world of difference on performance compared to all the junk Microsoft has been putting into VS Code
comic with 6 panels in a 3x2 grid. Both rows follow a similar pattern with two characters looking forward to a conference lineup and schedule and then their reaction to it. Top row: the conference content is colorful and full of different languages and technologies, character 1 says 'Dude! Look at that line-up and all those topics! I can't go this year and I'm already getting FOMO!' and character 2 replies 'so much FOMO!'. Bottom row: the conference content is basically monochrome with AI repeating as topic and just a few different things; character 1 says 'Man, I think I'm getting old! Look at that line-up and all those topics... but I'm not feeling any FOMO!' and character 2 replies 'It's not you who's getting old'

This is literally why I ended up not buying a ticket to a conference that I had been excited to go to, once the schedule got released.
Will doooooo
I totally forgot that was coming up. Guess I know my weekend plans now.
A demonstration of the same gradient defined as a light blue to fuschia gradient, with 5 different color interpolation methods. From left to right, srgb, which kind of muddies the blended colours in the middle to a light pastel purple, lch, which moves seems to move to the blue colour quicker, not creating the purple muddiness, oklch, which does move through the purple but in a more subtle way, oklab, which remains more pink than anything, and hsl, which adds a very dark almost internet blue at the centre of the gradient
we don't talk enough about how cool the color-interpolation-method is in CSS gradients
all of these slices have the same gradient:
linear-gradient(#00ffff 0%, #ff00ff 100%)
each one is just using a different colour interpolation
Lots of tech dudes think the "idea" is the important part of creating, not the creative journey you take through work to give that idea actual meaning. Ideas are the easiest, cheapest and least fulfilling part of it. Giving ideas life through work, and sharing that work with others, is the stuff.
I've just relaunched CSS Demystified!
Rebuilt from the ground up, on my own custom platform, and here to help you start writing CSS with confidence 😊

Pretty much this covers all the rules I discovered for myself when it comes to working from home all in a fun delightful comic by @davekellett.bsky.social
I say this as someone who focuses so much better working remote (offices can be a lot). But I do think making sure people can get together at least once a year (I would like a little more) helps so much in building a better product and figuring out how to deal with friction in a healthy way.
One of the big things I keep advocating for, especially on teams where everyone is distributed, is we need more offsites that are engineering/product/design all in the room together to help talk through this stuff and actually get in person face time with each other.
Mostly I find the best way to meet my neighbors is to mow my lawn because nothing gets the outdoor heavy power tool neighbors wanting to chat than another neighbor outside using heavy power tools.
Yeahhhhh. I was hoping it was gonna be more about events in my neighborhood so I could kinda attempt to get to know my neighbors, and it was definitely something… not that.
I ended up deleting my account because it was way too much and stuff I didn’t really care about.
Neils can use semantic button elements for toggles in a CSS rendition of Doom. What’s your excuse?
Make a fucking website.
I have a fun project I am working on for someone to help out with our D&D game, and it’s just such a breath of fresh air to work through how I want to handle stuff, deep diving into libraries I have been meaning to learn better, and just have fun with coding.
Anyway I have found getting away from computer to make physical items you can’t generate with AI tends to bring more joy. Or if I am coding, it’s specifically making fun little things for friends to use, where I don’t bring AI into it.
This speaks to a lot of my feelings about tech right now.
Honestly, AI slop PRs are becoming increasingly draining and demoralizing for #Godot maintainers.
If you want to help, more funding so we can pay more maintainers to deal with the slop (on top of everything we do already) is the only viable solution I can think of:

It’s been a bit since I remembered the wildness that was the Left Behind series, and how much influence it had.
All of this is hitting me in the feels of what I have been observing lately.
I always liked China Taste on Washington Ave? Also have good dinner combo options with soup!
You can check them out at their website! (Especially since the Spotify embed is being less than informative) www.vicesinc.com
My friend’s band (Vices Inc - she’s the drummer!) came out with a new album today! You should check it out! open.spotify.com/album/1ZM6ez...
Me too. Although could be any craft really.
