Pumping groundwater from under the GSL will only exacerbate the problem. The groundwater level will drop, GSL level will drop, and the spreading of water to prevent dust will evaporate and need to be continuous.

This will reduce the GSL at a much faster rate than the current course.

The only way to save the lake is to reduce consumption of its water sources.
