Human endeavors have their positives and negatives. It's a complicated task to sort out what to do. I don't mean you any ill-will, and I apologize for being overly critical. Also, I'll grant your point about AI and jobs. All new technologies make certain jobs obsolete, and the workforce must adapt.

I'm a progressive. Also, I didn't say AI existing was going to destroy the planet. I am merely pointing out that there are negatives to AI, which is quite obvious--even the AI companies agree. To flatly state that there aren't any negatives at all to AI is willful ignorance.

I am not a Luddite. I'm literally typing this on a computer. Also, you are wrong about water scarcity. Simply do a search: "Is water scarcity a problem even in areas that are not drought prone." Or, again, ask your favorite AI. Also, I never said we are running out of water.

There are "no negatives to AI?" Instead of holding a defiantly ignorant position on the topic, I suggest you do some research. Critical thinking is a powerful tool.

Even the AI companies themselves admit that massive water consumption is a problem. That's why they are looking into opening data centers in cooler climates and developing water-free cooling technologies.

Also, regarding your first point, you could Google "Is water scarcity a problem?" or just ask your favorite AI. Then find out how much water AI data centers are using. It turns out they are projected to use billions of cubic meters of water in the next couple of years.
