Literally the same people did this with George W. Bush and instead of adjusting their priors (“maybe rich white people are the problem”) they’ll just claim Trump was a “globalist” lib.

Third and final reaction: Booker’s delivering claptrap that has little relation to electoral dynamics.
Of those who didn’t vote in 2024, “44% said if they had voted, it would have been for Trump, while 40% said they would have voted for Harris.” www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...
Main reaction is that Booker exudes made-for-TV energy.
Second reaction is that here he is meeting with an indicted war criminal last summer.
If you want a good example of actually existing PC run amok, think of all the ways the political class avoids the term "racist."

But there’s no law that says you can’t structure an impeachment in a similar fashion. This just strikes me as a convoluted effort to avoid the I-word.
“Yes it still requires JD Vance to agree along with a 2/3 vote”
JD Vance is not joining the resistance and voting to remove Donald Trump. This is less viable than impeachment.
It's a bad sign that Spanberger, elected on a wave of opposition to Trump and his swollen militarized secret police force, is insisting that Virginia sheriffs and jails continue to imprison people past their release date in order to hand them over to ICE. This grants ICE power it should not have.
This is what passes for criticism of Trump in Catholic anti-anti-Trump world:
After Trump threatened genocide, the conservative Catholic League criticized the head of their own church for suggesting, on Easter Sunday, that there's no such thing as a good bombing campaign. www.theredoubt.net/pope-trump-a...
“A senior Democratic leadership aide concurred,” calling talk of impeachment “strategic malpractice.”

The piece recounts some criticism from 2 years ago and how she changed her position and silenced said critics?

Trump’s “movement is built, if nothing else, on inequality: the notion that there is a natural human hierarchy, with white, American men at the top… Trump owes his power to millions of his fellow Americans abandoning any pretense of love for their neighbors.”

I wrote about Donald Trump as the pope of America's right-wing faith — and how millions chose heresy over their claimed religion. www.theredoubt.net/pope-trump-a...

Francis was a “horrible person” and a “hypocrite” for defending immigrants (“the Vatican has walls”) while the guy on the Access Hollywood tape was defending the faith (white male supremacy).
When I heard how MAGA Catholics spoke about Pope Francis I realized, some years ago, that Donald Trump was the head of their religion.
The dozens of interviews that CNN conducted with both men and women also revealed that there is an unwritten list of male lawmakers – made up primarily of House representatives where there are many more members than the Senate – notorious for inappropriate or predatory behavior. Several people simply referred to that roster as the “creep list.” More than half a dozen interviewees independently named one California congressman for pursuing female staffers; another half dozen pointed to a Texas congressman for engaging in inappropriate behavior. CNN is not naming either of those lawmakers because the stories are unverified. “Amongst ourselves, we know,” a former Senate aide said referring to sexual harassers and their behavior. “There is a certain code amongst us, we acknowledge among each other what occurs.”
Seems like he was widely known as a "creep"/predator by 2017: edition.cnn.com/2017/11/14/p...
I suppose it is possible that leadership heard the same things as any mid-level political operative but just hadn't considered the power dynamics. Such naive and innocent people, in Congress.
