I comm'd @miranhasart.bsky.social a while ago for a Reylo figure skating au inspired by one of my favorite pairs lifts last season with young pairs skater Rey and accidentally-agreeing-to-come-out-of-retirement-just-for-her pairs skater Ben

I feel this way about pretty much all vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. You shouldn't be allowed to dump cyanide into municipal drinking water and you shouldn't be allowed to recreationally spread viruses around shared public spaces.

It's not just a social good, it's literally an economic good. There's no moral reason to be against housing everyone.

NEW: We’re publishing a full list of the 373 federal judges who have ruled against ICE’s mass detention policy and the 28 who have endorsed it — as well as links to key rulings by each.

Trump appointees have split 44 against/ 20 for the policy.

When I clerked, my chambers were right around the corner from Judge McMahon's and she was friends with my judge. This is extraordinarily out of character for her. It's emblematic of how bad the situation is with the government flagrantly abusing the judicial process and ignoring court authority.

Worth noting: literally any US born politician could get some of that Mamdani glow by siding with people over billionaires every single time.

Just love your neighbors more than money and fight for them relentlessly!

(And have years of coalition building and great communication skills, etc.)

A painting by @winterofherdiscontent. A white woman in a long white dress reminiscent of a wedding dress walks arm in arm with a man of color wearing black, away from a harbor. A pegasus flies in the background. The couple are wearing crowns.

So when thousands of women (and children) were being duplicated--including in non-consensual AI porn--it was no big deal. But it took "only a 15-sec clip" of these two famous white men to draw outrage and fear. Gotcha. Cool cool.

*endless screaming*

Like, there's so much to scream about but the "cumulative infections per person: 5.07" is the thing that's making me scream the hardest

People sometimes say things like “If I were the richest person in the world, I would cure cancer / solve world hunger / give everyone a home / etc.”

Beloved, the fact that you would do such things means you will never be one of the richest people in the world.

for me, historical accuracy on film is exactly like book accuracy with an adaptation in the sense that inaccuracy is actually perfectly fine when it’s done thoughtfully and for the purpose of advancing the storytelling. it’s bad when it hurts the story or is done out of simple laziness

These 3-yr drops are stunning. Absolutely stunning.

New Orleans: -55%
Baltimore: -60%
Philly: -60%
Chicago: -40%
Buffalo: -55%
Pittsburgh: -50%
Albuquerque: -40%
Newark: -40%
San Antonio: -55%
Portland: -45%

The media coverage of these staggering drops, tho, is staggering in its relative silence.

The calls for trans people to be quieter as we're wiped out are only going to increase, and you owe it to your sisters and brothers to get louder and louder.

I was going to college in SF when Gavin Newsom was mayor and it was an entire known THING that he'd cruise around in a limo to pick up 18-19 y/o girls to party with. It was a running joke amongst everyone I knew that "If we look hot enough tonight, the mayor might give us free coke"

Just saying

this is why the whole “oh, suffering creates great art” thing is bullshit

you know what’s conducive to art? a roof over your head and food on the table

you know what isn’t? stressing out over where the fuck the rent money is going to come from

KY woman who says she nearly died from pregnancy complications urges abortion ban repeal • Kentucky Lantern More than 600 medical providers signed a letter asking the legislature to roll back abortion restrictions.

Chante Burg already didn’t have much faith in the medical system when she got pregnant in 2024.

Her grandmothers died in childbirth & Burg knew that Black women like her face more risk of maternal health complications.
