Indeed. I’m familiar with why they swarm. What boggles me is that after splitting the scout bees go find new hive options—somehow that info is communicated, and the queen(?) decides which report sounds best.

Luke's sent my mom home when she was having a stroke, resulting in much more severe damage than if they had caught it when my sister took her in (they said it was a UTI). A few years later Al's screwed up her meds during two ICU stays. Maybe they all suck.

I will check out that one. Returns at a place like Lowe's are so easy, which is a bonus.

There are different options. We just need one for our first floor, so the GermGuardian for 915 sq ft will work for us. The Levoit I'm looking at covers only 403 sq ft. We're limited to a skinny one because our space is tight. Just be sure to get a "True HEPA" one.

Either way, don't buy from Amazon (Lowe's has both of these brands). I think I'm going to actually buy a service protection plan, too.

There are so many reviews and choices, but I think I'm down to the GermGuardian (less expensive, has a UV light that reduces germs, viruses, mold spores) vs. a Levoit (a lot pricier but quieter and better at removing pet odors, dust, pollen).
