From my latest Japan trip, I explored Tokyo’s Game Centers and covered the many racing games I’m obsessed with.

Congrats!! So deserved

You’re too kind! You’re giving everyone a million dollars worth of game for $1!!!

2 days ago 1 0 0 0

Frankly if you sign up at this price you’re ripping Chris off, but he’s letting you do it, so try not to feel too bad. Seriously one of the best shows in games, with somehow even more depth and value on Patreon. SO good!

They’re so bad Derek. Every time I’ve asked for suggestions at the book store they just tell me to read them whatever we have fun reading. Sorry kid, Crime & Punishment it is!

Crimson Desert is a chore-some slog, trapped under the weight of its own scale.

Its muddled post-release patching has sanded away any points of friction, leaving only busywork and a dull world full of boring characters.

It's a bad video game.

Yeah No I’m Not a Human is the closest to getting what about the circumstances in which you’re making these decisions would do to normal people. Such a well considered idea

Actually I think that game is the most well-considered version of this idea, but you’re right that it’s in that category. There’s Quarantine Zone & Shift at Midnight, but there’s also a bunch of similar ideas that aren’t so violent but do gamify authority in an accidentally uncomfortable way

Here's my massive interview with Sunset Visitor and Black Tabby Games - where we dive into the AI stories in literature colliding with the state of "AI" in 2026, how the CAPTCHA system is an "act of violence," and the ever ongoing funding for indies issue www.cgmagonline.com/interviews/1...

Also, I cannot stress enough how “taking a break” by using every single preset in After Effects at a pace that might cause an epileptic seizure isn’t exactly relaxing

Fuck that's basically it. What if I just think cold, fascistic bureaucracy is a good time?

Not what I'm referring to! I think THAT game is going to be great, I was repping 1000xResist hard. But there was another game (name escapes me) from that showcase that was literally about proving if NPCs are human

also as an aside I think there's something very About Our Times having, in the same showcase, a game called "prove you're human" and a game where you run a store and have to check IDs to see if people are human or not

An AI dares to dream that she is human. You’ve been hired to put her in her place.

We’re sunset visitor 斜陽過客, the creators of 1000xRESIST, and this is our next game: Prove You’re Human.

“I scanned their ID to check if they’re a person and they’re not so I blew them up with my friends!” That shit makes me viscerally uncomfortable, but I guess I’m an outlier

Maybe I’m turning into a huge baby but there are way too many games where you have to verify people’s humanity and then immediately kill them

Exact same thing happened to me, Jake please post the winning lottery numbers thanks

Yeah there’s really not that much Control overlap other than some B Plot stuff that’s inferred. You’ve played more than enough to understand what you need to.

Getting to roleplay the lead up to apocalypse every few weeks is always good for the brain. It gives you a chance to consider whether you want your last moments to be spent doing work, before they walk back The End, leaving you to just sorta live with that feeling until the next time.
