A new poll of Mississippi's U.S. Senate race from Impact Research has Democrat Scott Colom trailing incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith by just 3 points.

With leaners added, she's ahead 47%-44%.

Just a professor standing in front of BlueSky demoralized because exams my students used to get a mean of 83% on prior to 2020 are now failed in large numbers. It seems that their ability to APPLY concepts to new contexts/domains has all but disappeared.

It seems like a Prime Minister who continues to get his corruption trial delayed for years because his government is engaged in wars has a personal incentive to keep wars going as long as possible.

I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the fact that corporations like Amazon, don’t pay a single cent to maintain the roads they use, the transportation system they use, the courts they use, they pay nothing for the infrastructure that is absolutely critical to their business.

this reminds me, i don't think SCOTUS should be allowed to choose their own clerks. standardize the hiring schedule, put the applications in a pool, blind reads (perhaps by a panel of former clerks) and random assignments.

At least some of those now insisting that there's no news in the leaked memos about how #SCOTUS decided the Clean Power Plan cases have previously responded to criticisms of unexplained shadow docket rulings by insisting that the Court engages in robust and rigorous dialogue behind the scenes.
