Why don't we all just do this and make our lives a little better during these troubled times. #PeterAlexander #istandwithpeteralexander

Eavesdropping on my kid’s first on-line meeting with her 7th grade class. When asked about how things were going one kid said about working from home, “I feel like I’m working really hard but still can’t get everything done. “
He speaks for all of us. #WorkingFromHomeLife
My daughter, who goes to a Waldorf school (no computers or technology), now has to start using Google Classroom and Google Hangouts. Watching her first videoconference is both funny and very sad.
Trying to find a quote that works for both a #birthday during a #pandemic and came up with this: “Life changes in the instant. The ordinary instant.”
― Joan Didion, The Year of Magical Thinking Happy 13th birthday to our daughter: our greatest hope & greatest joy. #joandidion
Interesting thought problem. Keen to hear what ethicists like @SteveJoffe and @johnlantos think. twitter.com/antonioregalado/status/1...
One of our local #Seatle groceries closed for a few days when an employee tested positive for #COVIDー19. I wonder if grocery stores should start training a backup workforce to ensure the supply chain for food using displaced workers from closed restaurants.
Oh, boy. Not surprised. How long until #Starbucks follows suit, and what that means for their workforce.
This has become suddenly a lot more literal. #ShabbatShalom #WashYourHands
Well done, @NewYorker. Just the right balance.
Know what I'm doing with my @DayOneBio team today? Virtual coffee break via @zoom_us. Rules are simple: - 30 minutes of schmooze and laughter and support.
- Cameras on.
- You must have a beverage.
- No shop talk.
- It's OK to get #verklempt #newnormal #biotech #WorkFromHome
Thanks, @JohnCendpts. During a week when we've all had just about as much microbiology as we can take, you bring us this.
Hey @loserboy! Thanks for the upbeat show this morning on @kexp. I was going to ask you to play "Book of Love" by the Magnetic Fields (or the Peter Gabriel version) in honor of our fine librarians and what they're going thru today. But ...
Talking to a number of academic and industry colleagues, have heard many say that they expect a paradoxical burst of productivity with meetings & travel being taken out of the equation for the next month or two. But is this really productivity, or #pseudoproductivity?
This is very sad news for #Seattle: the Seattle Public Libraries (@SPLBuzz) are closing down for a month. I'm running out of emotions to respond with at this point. cc: @loserboy - play us a song about books or libraries tomorrow, will ya? #seattlecoronavirus #libraries
It's like @LastWeekTonight mashed up with the @nytimes. Well done @AdamWestbrook. This made me smile, albeit briefly, during a grim day.

Congratulations to my former team at @silverbacktx on closing their Series B and moving SBT6050 closer to the clinic. So proud of my dear friend Valerie Odegard for her visionary scientific leadership, and always, awed by the inimitable @ptmd59.

The head of my daughter’s Seattle small independent school has apparently succumbed to the immense pressure from @rtnarch and has shut the school down effective tomorrow. Thankfully, no known exposures. I get to now teach my daughter the joys of making PowerPoint slides.
Very sad that #AACR20 has been postponed (I perfer that to “terminates”), but this is the right call by @AACR. I look forward to reconnecting with my oncology colleagues after we’re on the other side of #COVID19.

Was out at the store here in #Seattle this weekend. Here are the top 5 things that I noticed were completely gone from shelves: disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, dried kidney beans, toilet paper, and tofu.

From the golden age of #Pharma schwag: this incredible 50 year old mint set of records to help learn cardiac auscultation, courtesy of @Merck, c. 1968, from my father’s house. Better than fro-yo, right @MaverickNY?
For my #pediatrician colleagues out there, especially those who trained at (or are currently at) @jhpedsresidency, I found my father's Harriet Lane Handbook .... from 1965, when he was a resident at @ChildrensPhila. 55 years young!
So if Hufflepuffs wear stethoscopes and Slytherins carry scalpels, I'm going to argue that Gryffindors wield Jamshidi needles.

Hey @Mike_Doughty_ : the nice people at #WordGenius shared this yesterday. Spot on. https://www.wordgenius.com/all-words/doughty#
Too bad that @loserboy didn't inexplicably start today's #MorningShow on @kexp with "Lose Yourself" by #Eminem. He could have made tens of thousands of people in #Seattle at 6am look like this.
Sad to hear about the termination of GSK2636771 (PI3Kß inhibitor). I designed the Ph1 and worked with a great team on the rationale. Learned so much about PTEN and Cowden's. We had a great PD bmx based on platelet function (PFA-100 as a PD readout!).

Proud to be back in #Brussels to present at, and participate in, #ACCELERATE2020 twitter.com/SIOPEurope/status/122500...
Spotted in @BrusselsAirport ... my friends at @Relay_Tx are really getting their message out.
