Today is NO KINGS DAY. Here's a new song (available for free on Bandcamp) that speaks to our need to protect the principles of our Democracy against the would-be dictator who is trying to usurp them.

After some rigorous science and methodical experimentation, Maizy and I determined that dry ice is -- and forgive me for getting technical here -- AWESOME AS F*CK!

Feel free to peer review our work.

The best thing I've listened to in a long time. A Lex Fridman longform interview with two Anthropic team members: Dario Amodei and Amanda Askell (who works on AI alignment). Really really provocative stuff on the state and vector of safe and thoughtful AI development. lexfridman.com/dario-amodei/

I concur. Wish I had a suggestion for a better place to share music info, but I'm at a loss right now (like everyone else, sadly). To be perfectly honest, the classic "Email List" was still my favorite of all mediums. Totally opt in. And total control of the message, and of its delivery.

Thanks for sharing my song, Katie. Just seeing this now. Keep making beautiful songs!

Thank you for the shoutout. That's a nice warm welcome onto Bluesky. Bluesky and sunny, I'd say.

Happy birthday to you . . . just saw that on your other post!

I'm getting that sense already. Oh well, if that's where the culture of the place settles, that's fine. It just won't be for me. It'll be fun to try out for awhile and see how it evolves.

Cause if this place ends up looking and feeling the same as the other places, then there's no reason to be here, and I'll just keep looking for somewhere, where we can be expressions of the other 95% of who we are, besides our political outrage 5%.

For my second post on Bluesky, I just wanna say this:

If your feed is primarily political in nature, I will likely unfollow you . . . even if I agree with your perspective. I'm here looking for an online community that's not *just* expressing our state of warfare. I can find that elsewhere.

Hi Dave! I imagine it will take awhile for Bluesky to build enough users for it to be effective as the primary means of promoting events. But the only way to get it there is to keep using it and build its utility . . . then more people will find it useful . . . round and round.

Feels like it's time to move over to Bluesky. The other social networks have become unbearable. So here's my ceremonial first post. Inuksuk were stone creations of the indigenous people in the Pacific Northwest, signifying the heartening presence of other humans in the harsh environment.
