This week I've had two separate businesses tell me they are charging a 3% credit card processing fee. Is this the new tipping?

There is a dark red butterfly ranunculus that takes on a golden hue as it ages and it is the most beautiful thing.
I get that and I remain optimistic but even the renderings look like an early 2000s apartment building. Next to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness it’s more of a stick in the eye than the place-making that Disney once championed.
“We are not a night brand therefore we avoid evening shots or darkness.”
So Disney is just done with theming? At least for DVC properties?
Since when does a protest need a goal? But mostly it’s in the name.
This is very interesting. Most fans thought this was a bad idea for a company with such stringent copyright enforcement. Curious to find out what happens to Disney’s investment but it gets D’Amaro out of a potentially problematic deal that Iger made.
@andrewhunterm.bsky.social This time it DOES have to do with witches.
An instagram post of Disney CEOs Bob Iger and Josh D’Amaro standing next to each other at Disney Headquarters. They are wearing the same shoes and maybe the same pants.
I predict that on April 1 Bob Iger is going to pull the biggest April Fools and announce he hasn’t stepped down and Josh D’Amaro has been a prototype Audio-Animatronic figure this whole time.
Thanks! Super word nerd here. Does it only apply to buildings with coasters in them? Versus something like Haunted Mansion/Small World, etc. where it’s just the ride?
Why are they called gravity buildings? I couldn't find an answer online. I first noticed it used with Tron and I figured it was specific to some part of that ride but now I see it is interchangeable with show building which I'm much more familiar with.
Beautiful. It looks like a painting.
What timing! I saw this painting yesterday!
Screenshot of a tweet from Paul Graham "If someone had predicted before the last election that if Trump won, federal officers would be shooting Americans in the streets, he'd have been dismissed as an alarmist."
We did predict it. And we were called alarmist.
Not defending Disney or saying it’s equivalent but the creator of Harry Potter isn’t exactly worth supporting on human rights either.
Again, I don’t think you’re wrong, but it’s not useful or helpful to bemoan that we’re only sufficiently upset because the victim was white.
You’re correct. Missing White Girl Syndrome has been studied extensively. But I don’t think implying this wouldn’t have elicited the same response if it was a woman or a black man is useful or necessarily true.
How can you know that? I would say the response to Renee Good, who was smeared for being a lesbian was pretty damn strong. You can even draw a direct line back to George Floyd. So I’d say maybe the overwhelming response to the death of a black man and a white woman were what led us here.
"Terrible things are happening outside ... poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared." — Anne Frank (Jan 13, 1943)
That shot has stuck with me to this day. It’s honestly one of the few things I remember about the movie.
It's wild but not surprising that last week the White House was leaning into "these seditious Democrats dared suggest that troops were receiving illegal orders!!!" and this week they are scrambling to figure out who to blame for issuing illegal orders.
The carpet I can get behind. (As far as one can get behind carpet.) Give me some Dorthy Draper goodness! But this mix of old and contemporary isn’t working for me!
I think it should be painted white. Dark wood isn’t the Victorian hotel aesthetic, which I know they’ve scrapped in favor of…whatever is happening at this hotel.
Never noticed that the warehouse looks like a muppet face with the two extensions on top and very particularly placed fans.
Never sure these days if it’s an @theonion.com headline…had to double-check.
I’m just finding this out now, although someone alluded to it yesterday I never found out whom they were referring to. I never knew him but really loved his takes from the moment I followed him. And as you said on another post…the Valentines. Such a loss.
That doesn’t seem like a ritual, it seems like selfishness!
We don’t really do it in like this in Texas anymore. They got bought by a bank in 2019.
