Solecism for computer-generated sounds Composed in 1996,

This was my first serious foray in electroacoustic composition. One of my music professors made a derogatory comment about it, so I suppressed it for nearly 30 years. My reaction now: it's not so bad, maybe my former professor's opinion isn't the only one that matters.

My heart is still resonating from the heartfelt and committed performance last night by Otis Murphy, Julien Benichou, and the Walla Walla Symphony of my new Alto Saxophone Concerto. What more could a composer wish for than to have such incredible friends devote such care, energy, and understanding?

I suppose no one should be surprised that in 2025, a coup d'etat makes use of the Internet and men in suits with briefcases and hard drives, rather than men with guns and tanks.

Thank you, @altnps.bsky.social! #resist #courage #altnationalparkservice

The premiere with the Walla Walla Symphony is soon! Tues., 4 Feb., 7pm, Cordiner Hall.

Oh, no. It's my own contrabassoon, made by Heckel. It is a fantastic instrument! By the way, I never heard any other student get as much out of Tiny as you did!
