โอยยย อยากมาแอคทีฟในนี้มาก สภาพคืองานมอเดือดจัด
Digital sculpts of the six emotions of the Fool from Tarot. Happy, Ecstatic, Curious, Sad, Angry and Furious. My suggestion was that his face would flicker between expressions, shooting sequences multiple times and “hot swapping” the masks. As a result we (my digital workflow supervisor, Leigh Cranston and I) devised a magnetic and Velcro based system meaning we could swap out the masks very quickly.
Felix Leech with his faces off. He’s wearing the red leather and velvet suit of the Fool, patterned and tailored by Tom Roe, and the face/skull cap that the masks attached to, designed and built by Leigh Cranston (you can see the six magnets at the top). Leigh scanned Felix and built the connection system to my specs entirely digitally. However, the eye mask is a vacuum form and is connected to a skullcap that is made in the same way as traditional Venetian masks. A lovely combination of traditional and very modern processes.
Felix Leech as the Fool, wearing the “Ecstatic” mask. He sits on set in Serbia, in red velvet leggings, a red leather jerkin with gold trim and a lot of bells. Fun fact, we started to remove the little clappers from all the bells so he wouldn’t make any real noise but it took ages so I just filled them all with glue-gun glue. You can see the “happy” mask on his left.
The painting “Stańczyk during a ball at the court of Queen Bona in the face of the loss of Smolensk” by Jan Matejko which was one of the points of reference we used when translating Trevor’s concepts into real-world makes, especially the quilting of his sleeves which we carried on across the Fool’s chest. I’m very pleased we coincidentally ended up with the candid picture of Felix in such a similar pose.
