"My lawyer told me over beers this morning that I should go on the offensive and deny everything in that Atlantic story."
It only adds to the indignity that every time they seem to give you more homework.
the whole series was great, but Abby’s cars+cats strip (and Mike’s reaction to it) is still one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.
“There’s no rule that says a dog can’t pilot an airplane for a European flag carrier.”

Paul McCartney talks about Prince, who we lost 10 years ago today.
I successfully replaced the bottom bracket in my mountain bike today. The many, many mistakes I have made with this procedure in that's have paid off! No trouble with the BB…I did break something, but it was a little plastic part, not the expensive weight-bearing part. Progress!
It's out there, we just need to spread the good word.
Looks like it was ep. 47, "Now I Dream in French".
Brace yourself.
Soon we'll have bots posting and doomscrolling when they're supposed to be working, just like us! This is a huge step towards AGI.
Sorry, one more thing:
What a stupid thing to brag about! I know it's all for show, but pitching this as a huge win for the Department of Looking Tough? Come on!
Something I learned reading the first part of a George Washington biography (I didn't have the patience to finish) was that he required small pox vaccines in the Army as soon as they were available. You know, because sick soldiers are, in the current parlance, less lethal. It's all so dumb.
That is exactly how I remember it.
At dinner tonight we had a mostly kid-directed discussion about budgeting as a college student. While I am happy That he’s thinking about how to be responsible and all that, it’s another reminder that he’ll be out of the house soon. It’s getting very hard to pretend it’s some distant possibility.
Dang it, Merlin. Now you have me thinking about Siracusa’s *terrible* arrival take. Better watch Arrival again to remind myself how much Amy Adams isn’t a monster.
I’m also thinking about my place on an X-Men or OSS team. This is not as clear as the Amy Adams question.
I just saw another person I respect use "pod" as a shortened stand-in for podcast. Worse, he used it to refer to a podcast episode. I know we're all in a hurry and it seems like nothing matters these days, but we live in a society!
darth, I can't help thinking that if some footage is critical to a movie, it should be in that movie. Is this why I'm not a Hollywood fat-cat?

How many actual lifelong opinions on global politics do you think he has? I'm sure he has lifelong opinions on money and women and , but nuclear proliferation? Sure, Jan.
If I were a centaur, I would find it difficult to get into those limos Difficult, but not impossible.
No way to know.
Sorta clashes with the Tostitos up top there. Strange choice.
He'll be starting college in the fall, w/ a double major in math and <something>. He's young; he might come around to the attitude you're seeing from working mathematicians.
The prospect that AI will solve math (whatever that means) has made my son reconsider studying math in college/grad school. For him, it's a combination of the machines taking all the jobs and an entrenched skepticism/aversion to AI.
I always sing that “oh we like cheese!”
who the hell called it "wasting time on random websites" and not
. . .
online gamboling
Looks like they will be floating the ore on site, with dry stack tailings (lower risk than tailing ponds). but yeah, the smelting/refining will be done overseas.
Which, honestly is a bit of a problem. We don't have domestic capacity for that part of the process.
Hairdressers San Frontiers is an excellent bit.

Thank you for this information, Ryan. I will ponder it tonight when I make my own dinner.
