This rewrite also means future updates are easier. Support for sorting the mixer is planned.

Simultaneously:

My one idea for fixing this involves turning on "Sorting mode" and making EVERY source visible so you can order them that way and then each scene is a slice of that order.
It's more work, but the new mixer rewrite means it's actually possible for us to do it now.
This also then means when you've got one scene that has Audio 2 and Audio 3 and then in another scene that doesn't have Audio 2 you move Audio 3 to be before Audio 1, suddenly the order in the other scene gets messed up. It would be very confusing.
2. Sources are ordered globally.
This gets a bit complicated at the code level cause it means when you move something, it's order becomes either 1 higher or lower than the thing you moved it next to and we have to update the order of things you can't see
So there's a few headaches to solve with this.
The first is that you only see the audio of the current scene, which means one of two things.
1. Sources are only ordered per scene, which means if you want your mic first in the list, you gotta move it to be first in every single scene you have

Under the hood it got completely rewritten, which makes changes or new features a lot easier
