This is a very good point.

Thanks! This is helpful! Even learning what different words mean is helpful.
Holy smokes. This is cool.
This is a cropped but unedited photo of a European skipper on a buttonbush flower.
This is a cropped and edited photo of a European skipper on a buttonbush flower, but I have no idea if I made it better or worse.
Does anyone have good resources on RAW photo editing? I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't tell if I made it better or worse, or why and how I did so. #photography #macro #insects #butterfly
A European skipper (small yellow butterfly with black eyes) on a buttonbush flower.
Two Japanese beetles doing what beetles do on small purple flowers.
A Slaty skimmer (blue dragonfly) on a leaf.
A flesh fly on a green leaf.
Sometimes I take my camera for a walk. Here are some insects from Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens last week. #photography #macrophotography #insects
I truly wish at least one world leader would realize that the world is not a zero-sum competitive game. Please, please figure out that some things are cooperative.
Koro-Sensei is invulnerable to normal weapons, has a top speed of Mach 20, and, along with two elite assassins, teaches a classroom full of third-year middle schoolers (among other things) how they can assassinate him. I feel like that motley crew could totally rescue me.
I think I'm going to be ok.
Not going to lie, I am very very grateful the skulls in both boxes are very very obviously fake.
Not shown: Switchhog, who did not take the high road, HULKED OUT at Zungir, leaving a puddle of cursed sword ogre in its wake.
Why yes, I will continue to develop elaborate head canon that directly conflicts with the source material if it makes me happy.
(Happy to discuss Swords AU at any point)
Also thanks to my friend Adam for patience in teaching me what techniques I could use to match what I envisioned in my head, and encouraging me to go heavier and heavier with the charcoal.
A mixed media art piece. The left two-thirds are a charcoal dystopia with uniform square buildings densely packed with dark shadows. On the right one third, there's a canopy of whimsically colored trees. A black path comes out from the top of the dystopia, and passes through an iridescent cellophane prism which difracts it into a wooden bridge through the colorful canopy. A small figure is exiting the prism from the dystopia onto the canopy bridge.
I started working on this a few months ago and set it aside for a while before finishing it today. This is the first piece where I had an exact idea of what I wanted in my head and spent a lot of time planning and testing to create just what I imagined. #watercolor #charcoal #mixedmedia
A dik-dik pic.
Just in case any men are on dating apps or interacting with prospective partners, here's a PSA:
This is the only acceptable dik(-dik) pic.
You're welcome.
A black greyhound with a greying snoot and perked up ears is reclining on a human bed while staring intently at something just below the camera. Is it cheese? She'll never tell.
A black greyhound with a greying snoot relaxes on a human bed while receiving shoulder scritches.
Status update. I can neither confirm nor deny that cheese was harmed in this encounter.
A black greyhound with a greying snoot rests her head on the edge of a fluffy bed. (It is a dog bed, not a human bed. If it were a human bed, I wouldn't have felt the need to post.)
Can someone tell my dog that I would appreciate it if she would hang out on the bed so I could pet her without moving? She is too far away.
Left: a small pencil drawing of a laptop, a cup of coffee, and a plate of fried egg in a slice of bread on a desk. Middle: a section of chunky knitted blanket next to some bed sheet with a case of pencils. Right: some dark blackout curtains shut over a window.
Trying to get in the habit of doing more teeny drawings for the sake of doing more teeny drawings. They don't have to be good, or finished, or anything really. Just drawings. #pencil #sketches #quickpractice
I LOVE Quest Sprout, and this was so much fun to draw! Not canon, but still excellent!. Thanks @swordscomic.bsky.social ! Happy Birthday Quest Sprout!

I can barely (and even then only under duress) write recursive functions in Python. How do you even do this in R? They all hurt my brain.
A black grayhound with a silvery face, long snoot and floppy ears looks up at you from her repose, her right eye squinting. She cannot tell if she is awake or asleep. And she does not know why you have stopped scratching.
Dignified. Graceful. Refined.
Disparition is standing on stage in front of what looks like the top of a gothic clock tower. The area behind the tower is in dark in shades of blue and black. Disparition is wearing a black spring zip up jacket with dark pants. His hair is brushed straight back, the sides shaved, full goatee.
Disparition shares his thoughts on what Night Vale means to him.

A pencil sketch of a woman with long hair wearing a round top hat (maybe a bowler), a burlesque costume, and high heels sits with her left leg crossed over her right, with another hat on her knee, and one on her left toe.
A pencil sketch of a woman wearing a burlesque costume. She holds a ball in her left hand, sitting facing her left, with her left leg over her right. There is a rose balanced on her head.
Ok. Buckle in. This is a pencil sketch with a pool in front with corner steps. Behind the pool to the left is a burlesque performer with her back facing you. Her left leg is stretched back, her right leg is straight under her. She's got a cane on her right hand, a bowler cap in her left, and is looking coyly over her right shoulder. On her left is a poorly drawn butler with a monocle and a tray of martinis. Behind them is a lightly drawn in double door, and the world's laziest drawing of a column.
A pencil drawing of a burlesque performer with long hair in a short costume covered in loopy strings, facing forward. She's got a ball between her feet, and two feather fans spreading out behind her back. Poorly drawn grass covers the ground.
@drsketchybaltimore.bsky.social is truly my favorite event in the entire DMV. I usually don't post my drawings because I'm completely lacking in talent or skills, but I don't want the host to be sad. Any lack of resemblance to The Juggling Kat is my own fault.
Oh.
NEW: One million children will go untreated for severe malnutrition, up to 166,000 people will die from malaria and 200,000 more children will be paralyzed by polio over the next decade, internal memos estimated.
The USAID programs were cut anyway.

A faint pencil sketch of a beetle with big eyes and a very long narrow proboscis. The sketch is taped down to a table in preparation for painting.
Sometimes I make the sketch that lives under a future painting and I think, "Well, I'm either going to love this painting or really really hate it."
This is one of those sketches.
