I like them for what I use them for, which is a quick, throw-it-down-and forget it home for someone I need moved to have someone else spawn from their habitat or crank up my Environment Level to unlock something I want/progress the story.

The Heeler household from the animated series "Bluey," set atop a hill during a sunset.
It's a comedy, there's situations, I'm counting it.
Since I haven't seen them mentioned, the Blossom Tales games (The Sleeping King and The Minotaur Prince) are both quite good and remind me of LttP/LA.
And since you didn't specify WHICH 2D Zelda, I have to include Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore, which is a huge love letter to the CDi games.
As for my experience, I ignored the 3DS launch lineup at he time. My launch-era Phat DS was wearing out, and I remembered that finding a DS could get tricky early on despite its own rocky launch, so I bought it Day 1 to wait for OoT 3D and Mario 3D Land.
Hindsight hurts sometimes.
With those launch 3DS titles being the start of Nintendo's base handheld game price point going up to $40 USD, the perceived value versus the flight mode being 1/12th of a $50 game with a peripheral that launched years before was an uphill battle Resort didn't manage to overcome.
I think part of what ate into any push Resort could have gotten was making it a pseudo-sequel to Wii Sports Resort instead of keeping it a separate IP.
US box art for the Nintendo Wii game "Jerry Rice and Nitus' Dog Football", featuring three dog that aren't Nitus on the cover and a very tiny picture of the title people in the top left corner.
Jerry Rice AND Nitus? In this economy?
Any indie devs in/near the Midwest who want to promote or show off their game(s), OMG!con (June 12-14 2026, Owensboro KY) has some tables available. We'll provide the table, an HDMI enabled TV and electricity. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please let me know!
#indiedev #omgcon
So that's why @stephenge.org hasn't put the tabletop setup back together yet.

If you see this, we IMPLORE YOU to post a picture from whatever device you're using without explanation
Mainly webcomics like Questionable Content, Order of the Stick, Megatokyo, and Penny Arcade. Newgrounds and FARK are websites I've used that long, but they are more stuff aggregators than sites making stuff themselves for the most part.
Marigold, the cow that held up traffic on I-270 for hours, with a microphone in front of her. Meme caption: "Because fuck 'em, that's why"
Congratulations on becoming all of Gaming!
Unironically visiting the Ark.
Handheld games generally being half the cost of console games also helped prices reasonable, as cheaper to produce, smaller scope games could be targeted for those.
I'm sure this is actually @damnyouwillis.bsky.social 's fault somehow.
@stephenge.org and @malmakes.bsky.social have managed to get me quite excited for this.
If you're an indie developer, you should hang this screenshot on your wall and use it as inspiration to never give up
Since I loaded in inside the cave, the first thing I heard was the stressful Bow-Wow Kidnapping music and dialogue of one of the Moblins threatening to "get ridda" me. Tame by most standards, but it scared the pants off of Tiny Me and left a lasting impression.
When I was a kid, I borrowed a copy of Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening from a neighbor. After wandering around in my own save, I got curious and loaded up their sister's save - which happened to be parked inside the Moblin Cave.

We’re moving, but we’re giving the game library one last hurrah before we go.
Join me Saturday (& probably Sunday) at 10am ET for a Subathon! Every 30+ minutes the audience votes for 1 of 5 random games. Bits & subs extend stream length.
See you there!

Funny part is, I didn't even react to that being his brother. Classic Stripe. I am surprised at the lack of Pat.
You duct tape your toddler to it so they'll leave you alone for .5 nanoseconds while you try to piss
Heck yeah, Goof Troop! Great choice!
Your go-to bad retro game for "enlightening" "friends."
Thundercats, Cartoon Roulette, Voltron, Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Beast Wars. TOM is great, but I got started with Moltar.
