When we adopted our dog, we tried to make sure she wasn't food aggressive, but our efforts backfired and now she can't eat unless you're sitting near her, assuring her she's a very good, very pretty girl the entire time. Just positive affirmations until she's done eating.

She IS a very good girl.

Why did I order a bottle of ranch? Because Jet's has great ranch dressing, and this is the Midwest, leave me alone.

Please note: that is someone else's moist and crumpled receipt, not mine. Also note the loose eyelash on my cup of ranch.

I ordered a pizza from Jet's. A car pulled up, sat in front of the house, then left. It came back 10 minutes later, and the guy dropped my pizza on the front porch, knocked, and SPRINTED away to his car, got in, and peeled out. Probably because I ordered a bottle of ranch and instead got this:

This is Chewy. He loves to help his grandma garden. She can’t kneel down to dig holes anymore, but that’s his favorite part, so they're a perfect team. 14/10 (TT: chewythenewfie)

Everything I've wanted to say about the Mario movies and more. Children's media should not be a dumping ground for slop, nor for cynical cash grabs with nothing meaningful to say. Vid care of: @popdetective.bsky.social

If the wealthy can get you thinking about who deserves basic needs and who doesn't, they win. They don't care if you think wealthy people are the ones who don't deserve; establishing that it must be earned is the key. With that done, they can just keep expanding the definition of "undeserving."

“When homophobic hate comes my way and says, ‘Why did you have to make it a gay story?’ We say, ‘Because you ask questions like that. It’s not a gay story it’s a love story, you asshole” —Nick Offerman, his response to people bitching about his character being gay in The Last of Us.

It would be great! But the pay for crew is way more convoluted. For the most part, especially on the domestic routes, we work a 12+ hour day for 6 or 7 hours of pay. So $100 an hour definitely sounds like way more than it actually is, though the sit & boarding pay on this new contract will help.

And quite selfishly as an organizer at the only non-union major airline in the US, I'm looking forward to that raise our company will throw to keep the union out. It may be union busting, but I'll take it AND I'll keep fighting for my contract, healthcare, pay protections, and more. Let's go!!

I'm so happy for them! Unions are the rising tide that lifts all boats.

Correct. Most flight attendants top out around 12/13 years. Also remember that our wages are based on flight time, so $100 an hour x average of 85 hours a month. I'm super stoked for this United contract and I hope their members are, too. They're also getting sit pay, boarding pay, and retro pay!

I think with the level of venom with which AI proponents have treated artists, writers, musicians, whole creative industries, they deserve at the very least to have that venom met in kind, and I hope it stings. I'm only sorry it hasn't happened sooner. Party's over, enjoy the hangover.
