Right now we are working on taking feedback from our community to adjust systems and services in the coming year. If you have not seen this survey from @merlin.mb.ca yet please reach out; we want to hear from you!

Not every improvement comes from something new. Often, it comes from adjusting what you already have in motion.
Perhaps it is simplifying processes, strengthening systems, and/or responding to what weโre learning along the way.

This does not surprise me at all Cody!
This was a pretty fun surprise to walk in on when I arrived in Winnipeg today!
Complete with a standing desk, I'm right at home now during the days I'm based out of the office ๐

I am using April as a natural pause point.ย Not to stop components of work, but to take a closer look at it.
Whatโs working?ย
Whatโs gaining traction?ย
What might need a shift?
Reflection is about making progress visible so I can move forward with greater clarity and intention.
New @merlin.mb.ca merch definitely calls for Monday photo!

Year two is about being more intentional, more responsive, and even more connected.

Part of that process includes hearing from the people we support. MERLIN will be sharing a stakeholder survey soon, and Iโm looking forward to the insights it will bring; your feedback plays a key role in shaping what comes next.

As I get closer to my 1-year anniversary at MERLIN, Iโve been spending some time reflecting on the past year; learning, connecting, and various opportunities to grow into my role.
April feels like the right moment to pause, refine, and recalibrate. Not to start over, but to build

I spent my Wednesday in Lorette, Manitoba discussing accessibility within the #MicrosoftEDU suite.
I was joined by ~60 staff from across Seine River School Division as we explored Microsoft's core accessibility features, Learning Tools & more!

Action also includes knowing when to pause.
To all my teacher friends who are now on spring break; thank you for the care, energy, and commitment you bring every day.
Rest well. Youโve earned it.

We are getting ready to head into spring break and the return in April is like a mini "fresh start". This can be the perfect opportunity to hone in on being consistent with your #edtech goals.
What habit(s) would you like to employ after Spring Break?

Momentum isnโt built overnight. Growth is created through steady, thoughtful action
Whether we are talking about the students, or a teacher learning to navigate and integrate a new digital tool, it is important to: practice patience, acknowledge the small successes, and keep progressing.
I spent my Friday discussing accessibility within the #MicrosoftEDU suite.
We explored core accessibility features, Learning Tools, live captioning, accessibility checkers, and so much more!
Thank you to everyone who spent their Friday with me!

Thank you to the MB Women's Institute for having me join them this evening to discuss all things AI
This was a new group for me and I am so pleased to learn more about their work providing education, skills & development opportunities for women; particularly those in rural areas

Intentional action often starts with subtraction.
- Audit your use
- Develop shared norms
- Remove unused things
When tools align with people and purpose, they become partners, not obstacles.
#ToolboxTuesday
Intentional practice matters more than abundance.
When decisions are grounded in people, purpose, and context, technology becomes a support rather than just "one more thing".

Awareness opens the door... action is what moves us through it.
In education and technology, progress often comes not from new ideas, but from the decision to take the next step with the ones we already have.

๐ถโโ๏ธ spring step challenge is in full swing!
My walking pad is already a regular part of my work routine and it honestly makes the day fly by! It helps with my focus and makes me feel a lot better at the end of the day when compared to sitting or standing at the desk.
Please share and follow as we work towards reaching this goal before April 1!

This month, Iโm reflecting on what it looks like to move from awareness to action when it comes to education and technology: making thoughtful choices, taking practical steps, and focusing on impact over perfection
Small, intentional actions can add up; especially when theyโre grounded in purpose
March is about moving forward with intention.
We spend a lot of time gathering insights: data, conversations, professional learning, lived experience.... but insights are meaningless without some type of action. As we know more, we should shift our practice in response.

Here's to a new month and a new opportunity to move plans into action!

Across these experiences I have been trying to be purposeful about my reflections and take in what I'm hearing from educators through the lens of human-centered technology. How can @merlin.mb.ca best support educators by creating transparent systems, strengthening trust, and reducing friction?

Our shortest month of the year is wrapping up. Despite the fewer days, its allowed me to visit Carberry, Brandon, and Winnipeg and meet with educators from across 18 different school divisions and post-secondary institutions.
