for a long time, I thought the Democrats were fighting valiantly but just overwhelmed by the oligarchy and the Republicans. Then I saw that the Democrats keep losing fights they should win and figured they must be just weak and ineffectual. Then I kept seeing them backing off without putting up any fight at all and decided they were gutless cowards. Finally, I noticed that enough of them keep voting with the Republicans to always ensure that the Republicans more or less win almost every fight, and that they start by bargaining from the Center position and moving Right-and eventually, after enough of that, it became impossible to ignore the only conclusion that actually fits the facts: The Democrats are not overmatched, they aren't weak, they aren't cowards ... they're complicit.

I cant deny this book is well researched. It is in severe need of structure and an editor. It is repetative rambling anf unfocused, at several points I recognised the same lines and phrases re-written. The 2 page "chapter" digression on maurice Snr feels like padding for length.

I am sorry, but how can you claim crime rates are down by 10% and then casually slip in oh btw sexual assaults are up by 6% and sell this as a win. I caught this on morning tv.... this makes it so clear that the media and the qld premier only care about the interests of the wealthy and not people.

More ominous quotes... i hate the parts of this book that still seem applicable, but Levi writes in amazing prose.

I cant not read this without hearing it with lady knight's narration. Seriously, go watch "the holocaust isnt a metaphore" if you haven't already... especially if you have nebula
