They are unhappy just being rich. They want to be despots.

Abdulrahman Abohatem is being hailed as a hero for saving a teenager from a suspected rapist who allegedly abducted her at gunpoint.
Congress, follow @harrisonmann.bsky.social’s advice. If you want to stop Trump’s reckless and illegal war on Iran, don’t fund it.
You can send Congress the same message here 👇

Habermas was wise tbh
New, from me: Take the Palantir manifesto seriously, if not literally.
It reveals that our tech philosopher kings want public money, but without public accountability. This creates a dilemma for governments unaligned with its techno-fascist vision. 🧵

Bet he hates Pope Leo tho
Scott Roecker is VP of Nuclear Materials Security at the Nuclear Threat Initiative, and formerly ran the Office of Nuclear Material Removal at the National Nuclear Security Administration. He says military means to curb Iran’s nuclear weapons program are not a “lasting, durable solution.”
These will be used to murder people
Oh im rofl laughing.
No wonder Habermas fired him.
Did he outsource the writing to his coauthor?
Is puritanism having a weird revival?
All men with a woman for show on the far side.
Orbán rode to power on resentment over the economic stagnation that developed under center-left governments. But he leaves office with Hungarians facing falling wages and higher inflation than similar countries are experiencing. Orbán’s sectarianism and intolerance have sparked neither a religious revival nor a fertility bump; Hungary’s population is shrinking and has become more irreligious, even as Orbán has demonized LGBTQ people, “Muslim invaders,” and Jews. Orbánism, in short, did not make Hungarians more rich, Christian, or free—unless you happened to be one of Orbán’s buddies, in which case you may have gotten rich. As most Hungarians felt their economic circumstances worsen, Orbán provided them with relatively powerless targets to hate.
Orban made grand appeals to “Christianity” and “Western Civilization,” but his “illiberal democracy” was just a scam, a way to make him and his buddies rich while subjecting Hungarians to stagnation and robbing them of their freedom. Sound familiar? (Gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Is that like big block of cheese day?
Voting on spy powers at 2am will definitely help with trust in the government!

He is totally saying we’re duck taping the world together.
Imagine being sub-sermoned by the Pope!

Rep. Watson Coleman: What would you say to the mothers of the kids who died due to your dismantling of USAID?
Vought: "We only cut USAID spending last year to the tune of about $8 billion. There was far more that we could have done."
WATSON COLEMAN: What would you say to the mothers of the kids who died because of your dismantling of USAID? Harvard says there are more than 100,000 of them
VOUGHT: Harvard?
Not to be pedantic but "just war doctrine" and "Deus vult" are actually not the same thing. There is crossover, but they are not the same. One is knight vibes doing a war crime for God--which is why Hegseth loves it--the other is philosophical and canon law and much, much, much more complex.
Netflix option when?
He had a hearing last june iirc
Every single Democrat who voted for Laken Riley should follow
@repangiecraig.bsky.social lead here and admit mistake. Those who don't will be shamed by history as the consensus to kick #ICEout of local law enforcement widens...

AOC: President Trump—I want to be clear—not only threatened genocide, he is continuing to threaten genocide against the Iranian people. That is his main point of “leverage” in this situation. It is a war crime. It is abhorrent, and it is also illegal.
Especially one who did family separation
"I had no idea that USAID did this kind of work," USAID's chief of staff told our client, former USAID Global Health chief Nicholas Enrich, as he described the agency's life-saving programs. "I just assumed it was just abortions." Which USAID never funded. More:

The REALLY frustrating part is that many of us argued that USAID could legally fund abortions in cases of rape and to save the life of the woman. But we kept being told that it would endanger all of USAID if they allowed that. Turns out their caution didn't matter.
