Amend the discourse away from policing, detection and regulation around the use of AI to one of exploration, criticality and examination of the technology's impact on the given discipline. GenAI affects every discipline in some way, and we need to ensure our students understand how. A3 #LTHEChat.

Definitely a shame to see it go this way. I followed ZP over to Second Wind and it seems to be doing quite well, though.

Absolutely true, there's a point of cognitive dissonance there, isn't there. 'We have robust design and approval processes!' and 'there are too many vanity programmes!' don't quite mesh together, somehow...

Oh that's another one that grates; I'd love to ask them what they actually mean by that.

What’s wrong with a ‘Mickey Mouse’ degree? As it turns out, absolutely nothing. A few readers might have seen a comment I recently put on a LinkedIn post from Times Higher Ed COO Phil Baty, who was playing anti-university bingo with Suella Braverman’s, Reform UK’s …

I was mildly incensed at the latest use of 'Mickey Mouse degree' as a derogatory term for any course that's not directly industry-tied and/or actually helps develop critical thinking skills, to the point where I wanted to write something about it.

Atlantic Archaeology (Vikings!)
Detective Fiction (Naturally)
Medieval Lit 1&2 (Heroes! Chivalry!)
Early 20th C Literature (Woolf and Other Modernists)

Open-ended question The Open-ended activity type allows the audience to respond to the question with a written answer. Just like multiple choice activities, open-ended questions can receive responses through SMS text ...

Depends on the question type you're using and the way you display the responses, I think. under 'open-ended questions', you can pick the visualisation type - word-cloud, word-wall, or spotlight. I think word-wall has the largest limit at 500 characters.

I moved to Warrington 13 years ago and it's been wonderful to see its improvement. It also understands that not every local redevelopment needs to target retail - the mixture of businesses now in the town centre has helped it to diversify really well.

I've started blogging again (c'mon, Sam, what is this, 2011?) and I am very rusty at it, but I still want to share it.

It's advertising 101 that he's applying to politics - create a problem that's alleviated by purchase. The sooner we stop believing the problem, the sooner the product becomes irrelevant.

A picture of the back of a dining chair with two cat paws poking out from the top and left side simultaneously. I think it's hilarious.

I think this might be one of my favourite pictures I've ever taken.

I mean, a lot of these guys already did make a mess in government. The more of these defections that happen, the more people will (should?) remember how bad it was the first time around.

There's a joke about the pen being mightier than the sword, and so the book must be tougher than armour, in there somewhere.

Wasn't it supposed to be a *bad thing* that various politicians/parties were going to take us back to the 1970s...?

A small red enamel pin badge of a Cacodemon from the Doom series. Best described as a 'bitey meatball', he is round, red, horned, and with a single green eye in the middle above a very wide, toothy mouth used to eating people, that he looks very proud of.

An anonymous friend left me a Cacodemon pin badge on my desk and I love him.
