Yes so true, I have experienced both types. An Imperial College Rector in my early career mistook me for a tea person and asked me for a tea, in his own residence π. I made him a tea π΅ #LTHEChat
A6. A walk very morning, between 20-60 minutes, acts as my commute from 'home' to 'work', which is in the same place (remote work is great, but you need a boundary between the two). Awareness in my own mental health and what (or who) impacts it is more important than ever.

A5. Not heard the term before but consider 'caring rigour' to imply a consistency in your caring approach. When colleagues see a consistent attitude or approach they know how to work within and around it. Inconsistency breeds confusion.

A4. Demonstrate a willingness to respect, value, and showcase the process, not just the outcome. The work & effort that goes into each of our jobs far out weighs the individual outcome or measured success that is often gains recognition.

A3. EQ is strongest in leaders who are self-aware, respect colleagues, actively build trust (not legacy), listen to what is going on, make informed judgement calls, and encourage growth around them (not because of them).

A2. When leaders (or anyone) listen to hear, not listen to reply. There's a difference and so few people understand the damage that only listening so they can reply does to a community. It devalues contribution and respect. Listen to actually hear what people are telling you
#LTHEChat
A1. Good question. It looks the same as any 'well' or healthy community, including:
- respectful
- collaborative
- supportive
- diverse
(not limited to this, but much more)

Glass pot of tea
A6 #LTHEchat
1. Walkies at lunch to the meadow overlooking the city.
2. Cats (this one randomly decided to come into the office).
3. Tea, a nice oolong mid morning/afternoon (and several other times).
4, intellectual, motivated chats with people who love learning.
So if pick one, 5. Learning.
That's a wonderful blog post, we need to keep reminding ourselves of this. I read this book whilst on leave, had similar points πwww.penguin.co.uk/books/456620/the-brain-a... #LTHEChat
A2 #LTHEchat open and honest about things, speaking to staff with respect as colleagues.
Done well this includes in difficult times, acknowledged, open that X is not good, not hiding helps engender trust.
Having a sense they really love university, the idea and ideals of it.

Yes this is very true. Many senior leaders do, it's those ones just below that think they are splitting the atom or curing cancer, who don't role model anything. #LTHEChat
A6 Meditation π§ββοΈ for 10 minutes a day, regular break during the day and trying to plan short breaks regularly. #LTHEChat
#LTHEchat A6 I have a couple: teamteaching a playful experiential PGCert with excellent colleagues - and collaborative writing with friends and allies. Finding, making time for & working with friends & allies was the most sensible, joyful & human thing I ever found the courage to do at university!
A6 Wellbeing is relational. Having people to talk to, debrief with, or laugh with makes a huge difference. #LTHEchat
