ok, so they basically treated it like two completely different cases, even though both were looking at the same set of signatures?
i guess there's a reason they need to do the second one even if the first one already found she doesn't qualify for the ballot, but it does seem a little silly

What's the difference between the two Henderson hearings? Were they based on the same petitions? Why did one find far fewer valid signatures?
There are a few good candidates in the race, but if you're looking for a progressive urbanist who knows how to actually get things done in DC, Miguel is your candidate. Check out his plans at miguelward1.com
The rules and regulations were set up in a way that almost no restaurant will take advantage of them, so the city can get all the car parking back while still pretending we have a streatery program.
I've been following this streatery thing from the beginning (including going to see the director @ddotdc.bsky.social testify about them in person) and it's pretty clear exactly what is happening: Mayor Bowser prefers to have this space used for car parking.
looks like you would only need a drivers license -- www.sos.nd.gov/elections/vo... the other docs you mentioned wouldn't prove that you were a current resident of ND.
North Dakota has no concept of voter registration at all; if you are a citizen of ND you can vote. Once I learned that I realized how silly it is that every other jurisdiction makes you fill out an extra set of forms just to confirm info they already have about you.
they pick different random questions each time but this one is wrong too. RTOR is banned in DC, even if DDOT refuses to post signage to that effect
Sounds like the like of thing an AI would hallucinate
Did @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social just not reply to the questionnaire?
Maybe then it will finally be Jack Evans's time!
Alternatively, since #SignsDontWork, I'd say they shouldn't be posted anywhere! If you are serious about slowing down streets, put in traffic calming infrastructure.
Jack Evans is lecturing someone about ethics?????
No. DDOT has announced no plans to remove the tracks (or, for that matter, the overhead wires). This makes a major commercial street essentially inaccessible by bike.

Close up of the streetcar map showing the easternmost of the existing stations followed by a series of dotted lines to future stations, which of course were never built.
the saddest detail was the streetcar maps that still say there are future stations east of the river coming soon.
A view from a seat on the DC Streetcar looking forward. Two young men are sitting in the front seats two rows up and the door to the operator's cabin area is in front of them.
A sign posted to the window of the DC Streetcar warning that the last day of service will be March 31
I got a chance to head down to H Street late last week to pay my respects to the Streetcar.
RIP. A good idea that was poorly served by timid politicians from start to finish.
crazy idea but what if instead, we built an apartment building as big as the DC Armory
I don't think people realized we were signing up for "a parking lot as big as the DC Armory".
Also, "a really handsome parking garage" is an oxymoron.

Read this thread -- the bait and switch being pulled around the new football stadium at RFK is already beginning!
If you're near VA, you can join for canvassing, but people anywhere can do some phone banking too. Early voting has already started so you can help turn out votes right now! More early voting sites open up in April and election day is April 21. Feel free to dm me for more info
Control of the House this year could come down to whether Virginia does or does not draw new congressional maps—a question that will be up to voters in less than a month. To help get out the vote for "YES", here are some in-person and remote volunteer opportunities:

If you've ever heard fiddle and banjo music as you walked or biked down the MBT and wondered where it was coming from, it was the City-State old time folk jam, 1st and 3rd tuesdays of the month from about 6:30 - 9:00! www.facebook.com/p/Old-Time-J...

our local urbanist blog has a great look at how the Streetcar's failure was very much a choice by our top two elected officials: ggwash.org/view/99934/b...
With better leadership it could have been extremely successful.
if you lost a bike accessory at yesterday's 15th street @waba.org ride, let me know! Perhaps it's the same one I found.
don't forget that by leaving the tracks in place, they're making it impossible for bike riders to use H Street, one of the streets in the city that has the most stores, restaurants, apartments, cafes, etc.
this spot is such a great addition to the neighborhood!!
