🎄And we're now on Day 9 of 12 Days of Democracy!
Today's Santa - @femi-oluwole.bsky.social - will reveal another reason why we need a fair voting system in 2026.
Let's talk about... Hope. ⭐️

The West Midland Police threatened to arrest me for criticising the Reform Party, after I reported a threat to my life.
🚨POLICE CORRUPTION UPDATE 🚨
West Midlands Police: Officer Ratcliffe's threats against Femi were "unhelpful".
THIS. IS. CORRUPTION!
Adnan Hussain, independent MP for Blackburn, said:
“Remand is not punishment. It is not meant to break bodies or silence dissent.
“Yet we are witnessing conditions so severe that these young people feel driven to risk death simply to be heard.”

These are not people serving sentences. They are people awaiting trial. And yet the conditions they describe – prolonged pre-trial detention, restrictions on communication, isolation – are indistinguishable from punishment.

Greta Thunberg arrested for holding a sign opposing genocide.
When peaceful protest is a crime, democracy is in deep trouble.
Happening under a Labour Government.
Denied bail for minor criminal damage (spraying paint on aircraft used in a genocide), 8 courageous prisoners are on hunger strike & close to death. Is the UK gvt willing to sacrifice Britain's reputation for liberalism to aid and abet Israel's genocide? www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
Few facts about the Palestine Action protesters on Hunger Strike
1. They never attacked anyone with sledgehammers (That was a different group)
2. They didn't commit aggravated burglary, they didn't attack anyone, they didn't even steal anything
3. They shouldn't be in jail
The arrest of Greta Thunberg for peacefully opposing genocide and supporting those on hunger strike is wrongful and disturbing.
This is yet another shocking example of the UK’s broad terrorism laws being used to target those exercising their right to freedom of expression and assembly rights.
In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services.
Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt.
While Norway still owns everything and has the equivalent of £10tn.
That's how privatisation 'works'.
Lindsay Hoyle’s dad was a founder of Friends of Israel.
He travelled to Israel on a “solidarity visit” in 2023.
He has refused to release his email correspondence with Israeli politicians.
Hoyle has no business being the speaker of the house.
Ah yes, I well remember our hard work on behalf of the fishing industry. Out of 42 Fisheries meetings while I was an MEP I could only be arsed to attend 1. Then we screwed the whole fishing industry with Brexit, so well done us.
We now live in a country where eight political prisoners on hunger strike are denied ambulances, access to lawyers, family, and their constituency MPs.
We have Labour ministers refusing to meet the Hunger Strikers lawyers, families & MPs!

My suggestion to the BBC has been that every day in prime time they broadcast a 10 minute extract of a recent Trump speech, unedited, in all its shambling incoherence, until he agrees to withdraw his lawsuit and pay costs.
And he has to hand the cheque to Sadiq Khan.
The is a declaration and act of war without congressional approval, and imperialistic jingoism.
The food deal with the EU will boost our exports, cut costs for importers and bring down prices on supermarket shelves. 💯
• 8 UK prisoners are on Hunger Strike and in some cases have been so for 42 days.
Please do not let them die.
Palestine Action Policing guidance suggests protesters wrongly arrested:
A previously unseen counter-terror police document clarifies how demonstrators should be treated. We are publishing it for the first time.

'Greta Thunberg sent solidarity to the eight individuals on hunger strike in British prisons, demanding that the government meet their calls for immediate bail, the right to a fair trial, the de‑prescription of Palestine Action, and an end to censorship'

'They have been held in prison for a year without trial and are now on their 42nd day of hunger strike, threatening their health.
Thunberg urges the government not to ignore their demands, while continuing to press for the shutdown of Elbit Systems.'

Greta Thunberg supports the UK Palestine Action prisoners.
There appears to be some kind of news blackout on a 43 day hunger strike in Britain currently. Or did I miss it? Much as I love Greta, she shouldn’t be my only news source on this. #r4today #PalestineAction
Activists unfurled banners outside the BBC offices in Glasgow, Scotland, demanding the broadcaster break its silence on eight pro-Palestine political prisoners currently on hunger strike in UK prisons, and calling for urgent media accountability over their cases.
Up to 100 protestors, including members of Oxford’s Your Party, rallied in the city centre this Sunday in solidarity with the Filton 24 hunger strikers.
Oxford resident Amu Gib is one of the eight prisoners on hunger strike.
