ThIs episode of Help! I Bought It At Auction with Sarah Beeny is properly stressing me out.

I've got to pay for my holiday in a couple of weeks or I lose my deposit and I'm feeling really unsure about what to do. If I cancel I don't think all 4 of us would get same time off again but on other hand it's a lot of money to pay and risk being tied up.

I'll just lie to myself about how I've been cheated out of 12,000 steps (pretty sure it's only about 4,000 but noone else has to know that)

Very probably

I don't like to think too deeply about what that means 😐

Oh that's weird! I find the route tracking thing pretty accurate - I wonder what's going on there?

Oh god no! I'll just moan about it instead.

It used to but I think I've done something to the settings and it doesn't seem to now - just checked and it's saying 70 steps for the whole day!

Have you got longer legs? Because my husband used to hate the old Google fit intensity measure because we'd do the exact same walk and my intensity score would be really high and his was a gentle stroll but I think it's because I'm nearly a foot shorter.

Had done basically no steps today so just walked to Tesco and then back with shopping. In the blazing sun. Sweating cobs. Smugly checked my watch when I got home. No frigging charge.

(And yes, steps only matter to me when they're being counted)

I meant hypocrite not criticism 🙈
Maybe I do need AI 🤷‍♀️

get a better work/life balance too. Caveats to that are it's not stolen a job off anyone 1) noone else was doing what I used it for, I just had a heavy workload and 2) I can only use it to effect because I know my job inside out. If I was using it in lieu of my own expertise it'd be really worrying

And here's where I'm a massive criticism. I dislike AI for the same reasons as everyone else (creative theft, glitches, worries about where it will go) but I use it in work and I'm not exaggerating when I say it has changed my life. I've been able to spend so much less time on admin and actually

Do you remember Terminator 2 where they go round to the Skynet creators house and show him what he's created and he's devastated? I always wonder if the likes of Zuckerberg think like that. (But I think they'd just shrug)

This is very much not a "oh look how high brow I am" humblebrag like those people who say "what is an Antanddec?". I do not want to be high brow. I love pop culture.

Can you imagine though. Burnley fighting for their lives manage to get a win tonight, Arsenal fans elated only for Arsenal to then go and get battered by Newcastle then Fulham?

every single person in the room could tell it was a lie? Honestly I'd die of embarrassment.

Not quite sure I like that my sense of shame is stronger than my moral compass but there we go 😐

commit a crime: if anyone asked me even the gentlest question about it I'd confess simply because I'd be too embarrassed to lie. CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE how mortifying it would be to stand in a room full of people and say "well the money was, ahem, just resting in my account" or other guff? And knowing

Every now and then I'll follow a court case either because I vaguely know someone involved or I know the area or whatever. And I'm often struck by the obvious lies people tell and the arrogance that they think people would be stupid enough to believe them and I think that is one reason I could never

it’s so funny that the drunk tv host in charge of the military is like “real warriors don’t need vaccines” when all the greatest generals in history would have done anything for a jab that kept their armies safe from disease

There's just no way next season can possibly be as bad as this one. Hopefully we'll look back and laugh at how we all panicked because of a mad, injury ravaged, transitional season where everything which could go wrong did. Hopefully.
