Support my DGR fundraising journey! I will be riding my Indian Chieftain with hundreds of others bikers to rise awarness on men's mental health and prostate cancer!

Last but not least, thanks to our fundings from NIH/NCI, @melanomaresearch.bsky.social , Melanoma Research Foundation and National Cancer Center!
Thanks to our neighbors collaborators at
@nyulangone.bsky.social , @nyumedpostdocs.bsky.social, particularly the Skok and Aifantis Labs.
Thanks to the Backman Lab, our main collaborator from the
@physgencenter.bsky.social at Northwestern University in Chicago!
New preprint from the Hernando lab!

Combining 3D genome profiling and high resolution imaging we demonstrate how chromatin architecture cooperate with mechanical confinement in conferring melanoma mesenchymal cells high migratory capacities.
Thanks to @melanomaresearch.bsky.social, MRF and NCC for funding my postdoc and this work!
Sharing our latest work from the Hernando lab in
@aacrjournals.bsky.social Cancer Discovery.
Thanks to the collaborative effort between #nyulangone and internation institutions we show how melanoma cells can evade the immune system by activating the transcription factor HOXD13.
Cancer cells are notoriously plastic, but what triggers the changes in cell state? In our new Nature (@nature.com) paper, Miranda Hunter (@mrndhntr.bsky.social) found that mechanical pressure is a key to this switch. Check it out here: go.nature.com/47iwDm2
Congratulations @tlaszlo.bsky.social!
Another great preprint out from the Hernando lab, lead by Maria Gomez and Allie Kartz. Did you know that melanoma brain metastasis upregulate the carnosine dipeptidase CNDP1 through MITF to prevent intracellular copper accumulation?

Finally out our work showing the specific inhibition of melanoma-lineage identity genes using a new generation of ecteinascidin. Kudos to the only one Frédéric Coin and collaborators!

Excited to share a major breakthrough from the lab! D&D-seq is a new technology that bridges a key gap in single-cell multi-omics/genomics : the ability to map DNA:Protein interactions (e.g., TFs or chromatin remodellers). Led by Ivan Raimondi, Wei-Yu Chi and Sang-Ho Yoon
If you are looking for an holiday read, check out our new story on how HOXD13 promotes melanoma growth! Others stories are coming soon thanks to my mentor and partner in crime Eva Hernando at @nyulangonepccsm.bsky.social.

We just posted a preprint about a death mechanism that we find truly surprising.
When you turn off transcription, cells die (duh!)... but did you know this happens due to loss of Pol II itself, not loss of Pol II activity!?!
preprint here and a thread (1/n): www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Gene regulation involves thousands of proteins that bind DNA, yet comprehensively mapping these is challenging. Our paper in Nature Genetics describes ChIP-DIP, a method for genome-wide mapping of hundreds of DNA-protein interactions in a single experiment.
