Great story. Give it a read.

"I will scrub everything to do with Trump from the national psyche and put every one of his shitheel accomplices through Nuremburg 2.0" would be extremely unifying

Way to go Carney! I continue to thank my lucky stars and thank my Ukrainian immigrant grandparents who chose to immigrate to Canada. We must never be complacent about our democracy. ( Just as a side note my grandparents left Ukraine because they were afraid the Russians would try to take Ukraine.)

The reality is that 2024 was a fundamental test of the moral character of the nation and we failed spectacularly. We’re living with the consequences now. Maybe we improve. I hope so.

We need to, state by U.S. state, take our signs out of the window David. We've gone on way to long trying to get along and it's not working. The great rupture is as much domestic (U.S.) as well international.

Mark Carneys speech, is blueprint of how to improve it all.

Look, I have American friends and co-workers (and BlueSky pals) and I hate posting stuff like this… but… yes, everything you said. America has lost its way.

I don’t know what you do with the cult members. Honestly, the country breaking up almost seems like what may eventually have to happen.

Where are the protests? There are some but they’re weak as shit. You guys do not have a democracy and it’s cute that you still think you do. Once you become a banana republic, it is hard to get a democracy back. It takes hard work and most Americans are still too comfortable.

Of course those people don’t want that but the fact that a disgraceful human like him has that much popularity at all is a terrible indictment of where the US is at. He’s been elected twice. The US owns that. This is who you are. Fix it. Tough love.

'This is sell America' — U.S. dollar, Treasury prices tumble and gold spikes as globe flees U.S. assets The 'sell America' trade is in full swing Tuesday morning.

Do it.

Americans need to feel the pain and suffer.

It may help to finally get them off their asses and deal with Trump.

It's funny to imagine PM Poilievre at Davos praising Trump and encouraging the other NATO countries to allow the US to annex Greenland

Trump’s trade war is our opportunity to remake Canada the way we want it Trump wanted a trade war? Now he has it. Here are four things Canada must do to guarantee our future economic and political sovereignty.

“Canada can be a stronger, better, fairer country once we close our door to the United States. There is neither need nor reason to panic. Trump’s trade war is our opportunity to remake Canada the way we want it.”

Yes — my boomer parents sit there and watch 24/7 US doom and gloom and Trump coverage and all they want to talk to me is about Trump, but have no idea of anything going on with our politics. At last they finally woke up re: Pierre and Ford but I battled them on that for years.

The U.S. Threat Looming Over Canada The consequences if Trump followed through on his belligerent rhetoric about a “51st state” would be catastrophic.

For no particular reason, I'm reposting this piece in The Atlantic about why America would not survive an attempt to conquer Canada.

Military models Canadian response to hypothetical American invasion Armed Forces envision insurgency tactics like those used by Afghan mujahedeen, sources say. But officials and experts stress a U.S. operation is unlikely, and the scenarios are conceptual

It’s sad we have to read these think pieces but it’s coming, I fear.

I wondered about that. I actually want the world to put all the sanctions on the US and call in their debt and completely tank their economy, but it’s hard to imagine it not affecting all of us in some way.

So… it looks like the US is actually getting set to invade Greenland.

I can’t believe this is the week NATO dies.

Get me out of this timeline…

There’s def been a sharpening of the tone from European leaders to 🇺🇸 Democrats demanding these collaborators actually fight.

I’d like to see the commencement of the gradual dumping of 🇺🇸 treasuries (why r we waiting?) & I like the idea of suspension of 🇺🇸 tourist visas that was suggested this AM.
