I could also tell you a story about a class of medical students in the 17-hundreds, but I'm trying to keep this short.
Favourite tracks: "Another Moorhen Up Another Tree" (because what the hell, trumpet) and "Spring Portal" and "Sab" and "Sally" (not only because someone shouts "Sally" at the end, although that would be a good enough reason) and "The Plot Thinnens" and any other piece with a long title etc…
I listened to the full album one day without getting bored. Then, I came back the next day. Eagerly. That means something. And what the hell is that trumpet doing? So, anyway, I figured the only logical next step was to open my wallet (my heart was already open).

With this done, I can finally focus on music made by others, which I haven't done in a while.
My 7-year project is done; this was the last thing to be released:

The last two parts in my last release have had a very on and off relationship (or… uhm… situationship?), but now they're back together again… and they seem happy‽ I want to think that they are. "I can date whomever I want; you can't stop me!" Well, I could stop them, but I don't want to.
All my cover art so far has been square. Is the latest cover art square? Of course not, as an artist, I can't bother myself with such mundane details… Oh well, I need to go fix that now—and I might as well look into that one shadow that looks a bit off, but which I was going to let pass.
Next cover art is done. No falukorv, though, because it wasn't working colour-wise… a little too meat-pink.
A powerdrill with thick drill attached and electric cable lying on a big sheet of white paper. A corner of the paper is weighed down with a copy of Bruno K. Öijer's "Samlade dikter" (title visible if zooming in). The cable is sticking to the paper using adhesive tack. Two strong halogen lamps flood the scene with sharp white light from opposite sides to avoid shadows. The photographer is standing on a tall table (out of view) holding the camera above the two lamps.

Trying out an idea for more cover art while also climbing on my furniture for better angles.
How to release an album:
1. start by rearranging two tracks on the day of release—bonus points for making them worse than before
2. consider deleting everything
3. take a long nap
4. release the shit
Very specific music for a very specific audience…
My seven year project is about to end with only three releases left: this is the first, "Allsköns bråte", the beginning of the end:

I mean, I'm talking milliseconds here and there—in a piece that is 25 minutes long and kind of disruptive. Any mistakes are an integral part of the… h̵̲̘̺̀͑̐ͅŭ̴͈̦̙̝̺̮͕͎̌̎͊͝m̴̨̭̬̖͙̠̳̜̗̈́̾͜a̶̭̙͑̄̑̔͐̈́̕̚ņ̴̢͚̣̰͔͙̺̻͈͒̌ ̶̞̠̬̳̎͂ç̵͚̥͎͒̓̏̀̈̚͠o̶͎̬͋̆͛͊̏͛͌̈́̔͠n̵͚͖̲̝̩̬͔̬̤̆̔ḓ̴͚͈̝͍̹̘͍̀̎̄̍͝i̴̼̻̾ţ̷̛͕͍̠̣̹̼̓̈͌̎̐̚͝ĩ̴̪̰̘͖͈͎̱͚̩̆͜ỏ̶̖̙̠͋́͊̂̿̎̈͜n̸̜̣͚̻̠͆̔̋̋͜…
I could work more on the pausing for the same piece, but too late for that. In themselves, they are pretty small changes, but I know exactly how that goes…
I'm releasing first part on Friday this week and I'm still rearranging things. Yesterday, I made some pretty big changes, which is generally not a good idea this late. I usually want like a week to audit any structural changes, so I'm walking a bit on the wild side at the moment.
Enno Poppe's "Fleisch" is up:

Twirlling myself to untwirl the headphone cable.
Cover art might become a rush job. I realize now I should probably have worked on it in parallel from the start, but I've been focusing super hard on the music—as I tend to do.
Less then two weeks left now and I'm still in the "make big changes noöne asked for way too late just because" phase… or well, I'm always in that phase…
One piece almost got skipped—because too boring—but I've been working hard on making it less boring and maybe I'm finally on to something now.
It doesn't matter how far off I set my deadline; I still get stressed out, because my brain keeps coming up with big changes until the "bitter end". *My brain made me do it.*
Troligen inte släkt med Nils Poppe…
Modern composer Enno Poppe in big round fluffy hairdo growing down over his ears and forehead, starting to cover his eyes.
Today's hair mood…
Yes—and yes. 🙂
And now, everything sounds unbalanced—even professionally mixed music. 🤷 Time to treat my other ear too?
My ear is back in business. I had some serious stacks of wax in there, but finally got it all out—no trip to the doctor's necessary. Now, I hear ᴇᴠᴇʀʏᴛʜɪɴɢ.👂
Only a month left now to my last release. Currently, I have reduced hearing in one ear, which is not ideal. I'm probably going to have to go and have it checked. Good news is that all details are done, so I could release as is, even if I won't be doing any tweaking in a while.
Yesterday, I finally replaced the flattened headband padding for my favourite headphones. I bought the replacement padding a couple of years ago, but it seemed like too much of a hassle at the time to install it. Turned out to be super-easy, though… 🙄
One can't do curved tempo automation in Reason — or you sorta can if you create the curve in some other automation lane, move the clip to the tempo automation lane, and then "adjust alien". I thought I had it fooled for a moment, but then Reason crashed… Säg den lycka som varar för evigt…
