my controller was doing a thing where pressing R2 triggers left stick movement which apparently means that the stick is starting to drift... so I replaced the sticks with hall effect ones! now to replace the ribbon cable for the light that I accidentally broke when putting the thing back together 😶

the tablet has to support display output via USB-C and has to have an actual desktop mode setting. check your tablet's info. I think the newer Samsung phones and tablets have it using Samsung DeX. my tablet is a Lenovo Legion Y700 2024 and it just worked. not sure about other brands

apparently I haven't looked at android tablets for a very long time because what do you mean it has a desktop mode and I can connect it to a monitor and can output 1440p 165hz
