CONVERGER will present news and views from an AI, internet and media policy expert--that's me!--who is pro-innovation but anti-hype, allergic to both AI panic and AI boosterism, and passionate about supporting rather than supplanting human creativity with new technology.
Think of CONVERGER as a connective node where emerging technology, policy, culture, futures thinking and storytelling intersect.
CONVERGER is coming!
Tomorrow I'm launching a biweekly Substack newsletter mapping the content singularity where AI and the internet collapse all media into one.

This is a nationwide phenomenon. The centrists and normies are more viciously angry than the socialists and anarchists, who gave up long ago on the illusion of a working system. Would encourage leftists of all stripes to take it seriously, welcome them in while they’re receptive.

Gosh, if only we could rewind to, say, four weeks ago when the Strait of Hormuz was open and normal!
This horrific story gets worse when you find out how this young woman originally came to the US: as a 17-year-old on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane
Just another day in the bad cyberpunk novel we are all trapped in
This is literally disgusting, politically and personally.
But at least this means that from now on, I can call him "Beta Brendan" forever.
Afraid not, IRL only

The only CA SB 1074 from Wiener in 2025-2026 session I can find is this one about telephone sales; can you point me to the right bill? Did you maybe misstate the bill number? Or am I missing something obvious? Thanks! legiscan.com/CA/text/SB10...
This is a dramatic reversal of the FBI's commitment in 2023 to halting bulk collection on Americans' through data purchases.

Strikingly, all panelists seem to agree that the supply chain risk designation of Anthropic was appalling and a massive affront to American values and the First Amendment.

"The databases, called “Numident” and the “Master Death File,” include records for more than 500 million living and dead Americans, including Social Security numbers, places and dates of birth, citizenship, race and ethnicity, and parents’ names."

If Americans can’t figure out why we’re starting a war with Iran, then frankly they don’t deserve to know.

Just thinking about how lots of people in the White House are making money off of this
Sam Altman picked a hell of a day to basically urge the world to trust the morality and legal restraint of the Department of Defense
Either the DOD is taking a softer stance with OpenAI (which seems hard to believe) or OpenAI is prepared to make more concessions here than it is acknowledging
