Been too long since I last drew Gray or Phoebe, let alone in armor.

It's a kind of melancholy.

It's a coilgun, so it's ballistic.
The mags contain both the projectiles, and a battery with enough power to impel their contents.
The gun has its own internal power reserve to account for any shortfall.

A big part of what I've grown to appreciate about the V over the years is that it's full of small "ugly" nuances (which are fun to interpret!). It gives an impression of "it's shaped like that because of rigorous testing and simulation" that makes it feel credible to me as military hardware.

Note: "Captain" is not a rank, but a title which exclusively refers to a ship's designated commander.

Certainly more developed than gesture, but the principle of "intentional limitation" translates. (and just like working on paper, going too small can also cause problems. Too-low pixel density, or the texture of the paper hurting readability)

Mainly it just places a hard constraint (pixel density) on how fine the details can get, which I find makes it easier to say "good enough" and not get bogged down in refinements.

Working at low resolution is doing wonders for my motivation to sketch daily.

Reina's physique continually challenges my ability to draw. Her build is powerful, but tightly constrained. The challenge is in finding the balance between muscularity and sleekness, as it's easy to go too far in either direction.

External map. There's a lot going on internally too, but it's mostly structural empowerment and reinforcement.
(Lots of genetic and chemical strengthening, as well. Abnormally durable human.)

Sketching at low resolution and playing with colors.
Reina is a distinctly cat-type woman.

This eccentric class of warship was ideally suited to Mars' broad plains and shallow seas. Their overland speed made them ideal for retrofit as mobile TAC ARM bases during the Nibiru War.

Old art for Vermilion Hope:
Ideation for basic Nibiru units.
The taller advanced type starts appearing late in the war, as the Nibiru begin adapting to fighting against TAC ARMs.

A huge reason that I find Space Marines compelling is that they are mecha.
Please consult my diagram.

Thanks! Those were the most significant addition in these sketches. I find it helps those bits to read as cargo pouches, while also tapping into the truss/brace elements that have become an important part of this setting's look.

Last sketch for 2025.
I've been slacking on my personal work the last couple of months, but I'm feeling energized to get back to it.
