It looks like my pricing change for getgames.app just killed conversion. At 5.99 it was an impulse buy. Now at 19.99, no one buys it or even subscribe at 5.99/y. I think my price is right , so I might need to rethink my paywall and maybe add a trial. But this is depressing. #BuildInPublic

I’ve started cleaning up Famicom Disk System games for getgames.app and doing so I just realized my Zelda 2 was never in the right box. Need to find one now.
ASO that’s it. I’m not sure I do it correctly. I could talk about the app on Reddit, or retro games forums, but even if I know my app is good, I’m not ready to handle the shitload I could get because the app as subscription, it doesn’t do this or that, a spreadsheet would be enough etc.
Layout is kinda fine, I have other page (still need to remind it to look at it sometimes). It’s the features. Not doing exactly what I asked for.
Worst day ever with Claude Code. I can't make it create the admin tool I want. It keeps building almost the right stuff, but not really what I asked. I think I lost my day on this.
Not sure I have an acquisition bet. 😅
But I would think people liking there collection wants to have a good look at it, and a good way to manage it.
Yeap!
Here is what it looks like with my collection.
The app is different than other games tracker, the content is more for physical collection management than game backlog, and most of the time collectors have spreadsheets, but I’m sure they’ll benefit from using the app.
1 week since I’ve upped the price of the Games lifetime purchase from 5.99€ to 19.99€. 2 sales. No new subscription. Now is the hard part, make users find the app and need it. And I don’t know how to do that. #BuildInPublic
Agreed. I think I’m going to go for official game list per platform and tag what should stay and what should be archived/trashed.
I’ve finally finished cleaning the N64 data. Now I need to make a choice regarding all the homebrews, romhacks, that you can’t really collect, but I don’t want to trash all these data. #BuildInPublic
Today, Games price changes, going to 19,99€ for the lifetime. As usual, this kind of changes are scary enough. But what’s more scaring, is seeing no new purchases since the change. #BuildInPublic
Didn’t wanted to code today. So I started cleaning the N64 data. Need to improve the process if I want to be able to finish that in my lifetime. 😂😅
Sunday, video games sorting and ordering. And I can’t find the cartridge of Link’s Awakening on Switch. Arrrgh!
The quantity. 100k entry to clean, merge, that’s going to be long. I think I’m going to go platform per platform, JSON official list + LLMs should do the trick. But that’s going to be multiple steps. Just need to really focus on one at a time.
For the next release of Games, I’m going to focus on Smart Collections, which I’ve left on the side. But since I now manage the data, I’m also going to start cleaning them, that’s a really long work. First will be moving “editions” outside the title in their own field. #BuildInPublic
That’s a new one :)
Glad I didn’t released it. Found a bug and had to reject it. I had my luck, last time the whole process took 4h. Now I’ve been waiting for 24h. 😅 #BuildInPublic
And the update is approved. That was fast. For the first time I’m going to do a phased release. Still not sure I’m ready to push the button. #BuildInPublic
Done. Submitted for review. Fingers crossed. Either it goes well and fine, or I missed something and user data disappear, and this will be over. #BuildInPublic
I guess I’m ready to submit the update to the App Store. The data migrations works well. Tested on multiple data and my own data (TestFlight). What could go wrong. #BuildInPublic
Looking to buy a Studio Display, but can't decide if I need to go for the nano textured version. My current display is a Dell P2715Q which has a 3H Anti-glare coating, but I’m not sure how this compares to the normal SD.
I repeat myself, but I really hate the part when you deploy your schema changes to CloudKit. Even more when I just want to test, but only for me. Having to deploy to everybody, even if not used, means if you made a wrong choice, it is there, forever. #BuildInPublic
Got everything running! Yay! Now the last part test everything on my own production data!🤞 #BuildInPublic
Yes. I have paying users, hope it helps :)
Sure they need such visibility.
As I said I can’t rely on direct TGDB access, so I need my own.
I'm im the « I need to setup the server » phase now. The scary one. The part where it means I’ll be responsible for the uptime, the data, the backup. I need to do it, can't continue with direct TGDB access. But it’s scary. #BuildInPublic
iOS and iPad migration works well. iCloud migration works too. Last part, migrating old data between devices, so mixing iCloud and old version. What could go wrong. #BuildInPublic
