The cojones on Becks there(poor penalty aside).
Wrongly vilified for 1998, to have the stones to step up, knowing missing could’ve been disastrous for him.
He went up in my estimation there.

Time is weird. Sometimes it feels like 2005 was yesterday, and at others it can feel like it was 30 years ago.

Just need Spurs to win on Wednesday to complete a ‘perfect’ season. 😅

Yeah, I agree it’s easy to think that it was the actual ‘88 footage, which was the point of their creative license.

What nutmegs! 🫣 Those players had to go home and face their families!

Any footage is from 1990 - the only year the McLarens had cameras on their cars at Monaco, until 1993.

There’s no onboard of that lap, as the Mclatens didn’t have onboard cameras on them in 1988.
They only had them onboard in 1990.

#OnThisDay in ’93 Alain Prost won the #SpanishGP, Ayrton Senna was 2nd, & Michael Schumacher 3rd - the only time those 3 all-time greats shared an #F1 podium together. You’re looking at 183 GP wins, 166 GP poles & 137 GP fastest laps.

Got a feeling Inter will see them off. Nous, guile and a bit of shithousery vs the possible naive abandon of youth.

To replaced by Eest Enders.

I was 12 when Ian Rush left for Juventus. I was glad he got homesick and came back!

In 2019, Liverpool had a World Club Cup final in Brazil or somewhere, and a Carabao Cup tie vs Villa on consecutive days and were basically told to get on with it lol.

That was fully Yeboah’d.

It’s Diego Simeone’s birthday today. You remember him.

If you’re going to nutmeg someone, be sure to give yourself a round of applause afterwards…

Exquisite shithousery there.

No PR spin. No media savvy. No carefully chosen words. Just pure emotion in the midst of a gripping title race.

“You can tell him now, we are still fighting for this title. He’s got to go to Middlesbrough and get something.”

I loved watching Sunday Grandstand either side of 1990, with Steve Rider presenting.
Come to think of it, they all were classy back then - Des Lynam(obvs) and Bob Wilson too. All carried an air of calm, well-spoken assuredness.
