The pendulum swing from "depressed that gay hockey is over" to "depressed because it feels like WW3 is pushing closer and closer and I fear for my country's sovereignty in the face of US imperialism and oil fetishism" has been a mindfuck to navigate so far this morning.

I truly could barely get through episode 4 of Heated Rivalry because I only wanted to see Scott and Kip again. I binged until the end of episode 5 at 3 AM last night so that I could see them again. Truly no two men more deserving of my time and attention than these two absolute sweethearts.

If I had a nickel for every time an HBO show had a third episode that featured a gay side story that consumed my every waking thought for weeks after watching it, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice

I truly could not be more pumped for this game. If these are the kind of features available in early access, then I can only imagine what is in store for future developments.

There is so much in this video that has me legitimately excited. The adjustable size bed and curtains? The slot-free decor placement? The pictures freed from captivity within a single frame style? The customizable colours and patterns!!!

I'm gonna probably try touching more grass and working through my Steam library backlog (I swear I will finally finish BioShock this time!)

Anyway... not to be extreme but I uninstalled the EA app along with all my games this morning. I've backed up my folders in case things take a surprising turn and three of my favourite franchises are no longer owned by objectively terrible people, but until such time I'm done

What could be even more insidious than TS4 being "de-queered" by its new owners is the existing representation in this game being weaponized as a form of rainbow-washing one of the most oppressive and violent regimes in the world.

I had actually been playing this new legacy and really enjoying myself and this EA buyout news has sapped 100% of my enthusiasm for this game. I was actually excited about this new pack and I truly just can't bring myself to be excited about a game that will soon be run by Saudi interests.

Absolutely not people I want to have influence over this franchise and even more absolutely not where I would like the money I spend on games to go. If the deal goes through, I cannot in good conscience continue purchasing ANY content from EA.

While the clothes don't strike me as terribly exciting (but absolutely agree they will be very useful) they really knocked the hairs out of the park on this one! Especially the half-up curly hair, which I'm certain will be a new staple for me and the bandana, which speaks to my soul for some reason😂

Yet another late weeknight but I have successfully achieved a mods folder size of 50 GB again 🎉 I still have a few things I want to tidy up just for usability and decluttering my catalogue, but in terms of storage bloat I feel much more comfortable with this size now.

Upon further reflection, it might fix me but I just know it would be, itself, broken.

For context that was over 1000 items deleted from my folder. I have yet to tackle my CAS folder which is where the bulk of the content is (~8000 files totaling 34.4 GB) 😬

I have so far cleared 7.5 GB from my folder... It is also now 2 AM on Monday morning and I fear I have made a grave mistake given that I, y'know... have a job that happens in regular working hours

On the bright side, I'm almost done the first season of Survivor, so I'll be getting some delicious Final Tribal Council drama while I'm splitting hairs about which tuning mods to keep in my game 😵‍💫

Pray for me... I'm decluttering my mods folder today after discovering that I had really horribly managed it before (some duplicate mods, lots of conflicting tuning... oops!) Hopefully I clear out some mod bloat and it'll be less of a headache when the Adventure Awaits patch comes around

I'm watching the OG season of Survivor right now and my mind is absolutely back in that early 00's shipwreck/plane crash/island survival craze. Desperate for a relaunch of The Sims Castaway franchise 😖

Simultaneously so apprehensive and excited about the future of this franchise and I'm exhausted by the two wolves inside of me bickering non-stop

On the other, Adventure Awaits seems like it could be the most well-rounded EP we've been offered in YEARS and could even have enough material to justify the price tag while also finally making children feel like a fully fleshed out lifestage.

On one hand, it really feels like TS4 is at its most unstable and cash-grabby as we are staring down game-ending bugs that the devs aren't able to pin down and the constant stream of new content only makes more and more complex.

I know I'm a pretty heavy CC user, but I actually really like to use official content. Hell, I made my personal save file to only use almost exclusively vanilla CAS (body hair and afro-textured hair notwithstanding) but you better believe I used almost nothing from the BG because it's so damn ugly

Obviously🙄 ... but they COULD be turned toward improving some of the godawful basegame models and textures to be on par with recent releases but that only generates good will and positive PR, not profits for shareholders

But also what an insane thing to be like "we'll take a break from EPs to focus on fixing the game, but worry not for in the meantime you can purchase 5 new kits for $7 CAD each" because we can't slow down the revenue train for even a second to maximize our efforts on improving the existing game
