still waiting for that piercing interview with the GOP Man in the street asking them what they like about the DJT II Administration....
1) the war crime treatment of people detained by ICE?
2) the murder of people in boats sans cause?
3) the economic mayhem with no public benefit
If they want to defenestrate further, I'll enjoy the show but that will be tempered with the understanding of what they've done AND ARE STILL DOING.
I don't want to lose sight of the fact that the HOUSE and SENATE could end this now if they had any sense of ethics and morals. Cowards all.
They've acknowledged that California looks to be another electoral bloodbath and even though Virginia has just now had it's vote, it's plain to see that they thought they had scuttled this and now that its passed, Cook is already signaling that the GOP looks like they've screwed the pooch.
have to admit this defeatism from the GOP is worth savoring, if you read the implications of the posts, with the current state of affairs with the GOP unintentionally triggering what looks to be a blue Tsunami, you hear them saying that they fucked up in Texas and are in danger there.
is there a tariff on imported rusty pitchforks?
turned out to be strangely evocative of implemented GOP policy didn't it?
isn't it fucking amazing that you NEVER see this shit posted over on reddit or any Conservative leaning social media sites.
This fucker would be clowning about his purity while the fascists ship his ass out to the Congo.
origin of the concept... "rooting for injuries".....
all true, but I was part of the rural Dem crew showing up and answering questions at the polling place and we greeted EVERYONE, thanked EVERYONE for participating. Doing everything we could to make those MAGA voters see US as people. Just showing up matters, just like each and every vote.
salty, salty tears.... still more work to follow to work for these candidates on these new maps. I don't expect the VA GOP to go quietly, their pockets are deep and their derp is strong. Their sense of entitlement is very real and I'm hoping that these midterms will be like Sherman to the Sea.
just dating myself, but here goes...
1) Let's Go Crazy
2) Little Red Corvette
3) 1999
4) Computer Blue
5) Take Me With You
tempted to go with something more obscure, but hey, if you got a classic that everyone adores, just go ahead and use it....
I just hope that by this time your lungs weren't screaming for air....
deeds, not words otherwise its pretty much just bullshit
you know, I might just start to suspect that State Senator Lucas may be out of fucks.
So essential to note the difference, In Cali and Virginia, the voters were asked. Elsewhere, not so much. Strange how the media cares so little about Dem voters in Texas, Florida, Missouri and North Carolina.
at least no one is trying to kill you with a forklift....
No was able to get the jump on it, muddle the messaging. Accuse Dems of hypocrisy and then trotted out the scare tactics after Yes scored with their improved messaging. Ugly race, loads of blatant misinformation and flat out lies from the GOP, tried to change the focus to guns and immigrants
just like in California, Dems asked voters for permission to electorally respond to what is happening in other states, not a traditional ask and a tough sell when Dems have been railing against GOP use of the same tool. They managed to boil the message down to YES=stopping Trump. Hard to sell tbh.
Virginia has been a swingy state for about a decade or so, GOP controlled state lege, GOP governor, LG and AG until the 25 elections. With the Federal level having 2 Senators but not exactly what you would call solidly progressive.
while the NYT and Faux News will bemoan the perfidy of these scheming Dems, I will not expect that anyone will mention the context of events in Texas, Florida, Missouri and North Carolina that spurred the action in Virginia.
in short, Fuck You GOP, reap the whirlwind motherfuckers.
This was a tough ask, requesting that the residents of the state shelve the fairness of how elections are constructed in order to stop a tyrant who was abusing those said same rules to stay in power.
Helluva leap considering it's tough enough to get people to vote period, much less on this issue
just savoring the VA election outcomes...
In this age of politics, we had a party finally grasp the reality that the other side breaks rules whenever it suits them and if you continue to not respond in kind, well you end up with people in detention centers, wars being started for personal profit
when the Dems starting breaking thru with ads regarding the context of what was and was not in the proposition and the reasons for the proposition, that was huge. Someone was wise enough to equate YES = Stopping Trump.
In desperation, they trotted out the scare stuff, guns and illegals, it failed
in this scenario, he looks like he will have to run against Breyer in a rather unfavorable map. Fuck him, he could have done the right thing and he folded like an old AAA map.
have to tell them that your grudge match against The Trunbull is still available for viewing on the Dark Web....
spent the day at a Dem Party info station outside a rural Virginia polling station. Was polite and greeted EVERYONE. Spent three hours, answered questions respectfully about the amendment in question. Encouraged voters who had doubts to read the text of the proposition.
Did not get flipped off
and that could totally be plausible with Dr F and Frank in the basement acting as HR to enshittify each and every advancement that is created.
welcome to the school of "If I say it sincerely, maybe they'll believe that what I say is true" Congressional dispositions.
400 years ago this guy would be telling us that tulips are a good investment.
in a rare case of getting away from the keyboard and my butt in a chair in the real world, I'll be working the Democratic Party table outside my polling place today. Helping to inform any voters about Prop 21.
Doing something, feels kind of cathartic
