Time to just make shit at home. Horrid price

It's not "longing for inconvenience."

It's just how we lived, before everything was a subscription. Before, when buying something meant ACTUALLY OWNING IT. Before, when I didn't have everything connected to an internet infested by tech ghouls, selling my data to the worst people alive.

the fact that legislators are trying to say that computers are devices that require id verification and tracking to use should put fear into EVERYONE. FIGHT AGAINST THIS.

H post on krita-artists.org by Halla, lead developer, that reads:

"Speaking as the Krita maintainer, I don’t want us to accept any LLM-generated code into Krita.

Some may say, as long as the contributor understands the code it’s fine, but that’s a fallacy.

No programmer really fully understands the code they are working with (otherwise bugzilla would be empty); but with LLM-generated code they haven’t even put any thought into it. That code will be unmaintainable.

And that’s even completely apart from the fact that using LLM’s to generate code lowers your cognitive capacity, burns up the planet, destroys water sources all over the world and takes away from people what fits them best: being creative together with other humans.

The right thing to do could be to, after you’ve experimented in this environmentally-disastrous way, to describe the feature you reached and wanted and make a wish item in bugzilla, or discuss it here, and then let people who can code implement it in a responsible way."

This was such a relief to read.
Nobody wants vibe coded barely functional software - happy to see @krita.org maintainers speaking out against it.

An android e-ink tablet with the cover of JoJo's Bizzare Adventure Vol. 24 showing.

Been going in blind on this for a few weeks now, still in part 3 volume 24. Just keeps getting nuttier and I have to admit I am all for it.

This is important regarding the previous repost. They definitely aren’t considering the idea of legal nsfw as protected speech mostly just angry maga people getting debunked. Still would be good to hijack it to push for protections of nsfw creators or at least try.

took me like two minutes total. don’t have to talk to anybody, don’t have to make a phone call, just have to write what you can about how payment processors shouldn’t control what consumers can buy and hit send. that’s it

all hands on deck yall, this could make a huge difference

I'm actually going to lose my mind, Gavin Newsom signed into CA law an age verification bill back in October requiring OPERATING SYSTEMS (including open source ones) to require id starting next year... Whomever lives in CA please tell him this is unconstitutional to gate technology like this!

So, uh... why aren't you going after basically every other game publisher doing lootboxes too? I fail to see the point of this lawsuit going after one of the few game publishers and distributors that gamers actually like. Why aren't you hitting Blizzard or EA.

So genAI is guzzling water, making computers and phones more expensive, making the spread of misinformation worse, making students dumber, and putting artists out of jobs...

...for basically *zero* economic value.

Cool. Wonderful. Amazing.

Discord ends partnership with controversial age verification software, Twitch immediately says hold my beer and tells new affiliates to submit faces and IDs to the same service "Ask yourself who's on the other side of that camera, and what list you just landed on"

Remember if you oppose age verification that invades your privacy you should also be voting out any lawmakers that push for it. Remember they say it’s to protect kids but ultimately they are striving to deannonymize the net.

I hear that discord has pushed verification back but remember, this is by no means a win. They still intend to move forward with violating our privacy for age verification. You absolutely should keep cancelling nitro and checking out alternate platforms and also push back against legislators too.

Hackers Expose Age-Verification Software Powering Surveillance Web Three hacktivists tried to find a workaround to Discord’s age-verification software. Instead, they found its frontend exposed to the open internet.

#discord So I found this while browsing recently. Seems discords' verification partner wants to use our verification for a surveillance dragnet.
