Not only a big NO to all of this, but also bring back the Digital Services Tax that we backed down on to appease Trump last year

If an electoral map gets gerrymandered outside of the US, does it make a sound?

It wouldn’t matter which political party or government was engaged in these actions, I would condemn them all equally.

As should you.

Unpacking Canada’s Fossil Fuel Subsidies Fossil fuel subsidies hold us back and incentivize pollution. How much do Canada's governments subsidize fossil fuels, and why does it matter?

That's just federal; provinces also have some, though it varies widely.

Pretty good breakdown here:

I want to know where I can get the plug-in solar panels the rest of the world gets to have? 🤷‍♀️

Don’t pay, don’t go, fuck them.

This is the only fact that matters on the subject.

Another truth: as long as I am alive, I will continue this boycott. It’s over, really.

People can ask for reassignments to get out of toxic situations, a thing that has plagued the Oilers and some of their very extreme fans

Yes, I am accusing a part of the fan base that I am part of racism because I witnessed it.

You have no idea what went on in the decision.

Hearing META is increasing its AI budget, laying off employees, and Zuc n wife are closing their free-tuition school reminded me I should probably spend more time here than on threads.

Another thing.

If have access to the opposong sides broadcast, I’d rather listen to that than Jack Michaels. But I think Louie DeBrusk is great colour guy.

That doesn’t discredit the hate he got for calling Oilers games on the national broadcast. Including playoff game. Which Jack took no displeasure in promoting tuning out the television broadcast for his.

If you're anywhere in Canada & think that Smith's attempt to gerrymander Alberta's ridings doesn't effect you, think again
If Canadians let Smith get away with this, then Moe, Ford, any premier or prime minister can manipulate the ridings to hang onto power
It must be stopped

All in all, I don’t mind paying taxes but I am absolutely done subsidizing the elite class. 100% done. If I’m getting a tax cut, it needs to be offset by raiding the coffers of the elite class.

It’s fine you don’t want to have kids, but the next wave of service workers, doctors, educators, emergency responders, and on and on, they come from somewhere, they serve you and society and that is a cost.

I already see it at work. DINKs retiring early, family adults not. Subsidizing the retirement of those who chose not to provide the next wave of citizens, we all should be chipping in.

Also having two young kids, knowing I can get them through whatever education they want without putting me further behind.

Access to healthcare with no credit card. Low cost energy. Insurance not gouging me because car parts are astronomically priced and climate disasters are escalating. Food security. These are the things that will make a significant impact.

I’m “middle class” and don’t want care about a tax cut. That isn’t going to meaningfully help my finanaces.

I’m 45, been working since I’ve been 16, minus two months (yes, very lucky)

All but one time a raise somehow meant I had a lower paycheque was I pissed about the taxes I pay. An older co-worker reminded me it wouldn’t be like that again and better day were ahead. He was right.

When Mark Carney’s Conservatives peddle “middle class” (fake class, doesn’t exist) tax cuts, this is how it plays out. Someone eventually pays for those cuts.

The ONLY solution is to raise taxes on large corporations and the super wealthy and shut down all tax avoidance schemes.
