No one would have survived through most of human history if growing food on a small scale did not work. Plus, i know people who live in communities right now who grow food, raise their own animals & do just fine.

How did people survive prior to the 20th century? Before Big Agriculture and Cafos? There are places today that do not rely on commercial ag. Of course they need to be experienced… but that is the point. We had better start learning.
The solution is small community farms with fertilizer that is home grown, seeds home sewn, food home grown, animals raised ethically by the community. Living as we are now does not work…
